I know it’s not as simple as just being more aggressive but too many blokes we sitting ducks.

If there is 4 fielders around the bat plus the keeper and bowler that means there is a hell of a lot of space around the ground.

Without having the data I don’t think the Indians would defend any where near as many balls as we do.

I think most of us can accept a loss. But to be completely and utterly outplayed in every department (including planning and selection) without as much as a yelp…..

A few thoughts.

I heard John Bucchahan interviewed before the game. One comment he made, was to be successful in India, you need to accept what you are given. Don’t try to swim against the tide. I get what he means, embrace the challenge. Did we do that?

A few years ago we had a training camp in Dubai to acclimatise. Why did we not do that again…. Was it so our test players could play a bit of T/20 and chill out before the AB Medal? Remember these blokes are on 6 and 7 figure wages. Where is the preparation or investment back into their games, to justify their pay packets.

Selection bloody diabolical. Yes a few injuries did not help, but the injuries were known before they left.

Game play… bowling plans to their bats. I couldn’t make one out as a viewer.

Pitch. No problem with them preparing a spinning wicket. We expect that. The partial preparation of certain areas is in the least questionable. But the BCCI rules the ICC.

My mate Davy. As a keen follower of the game for over 50 years, I’m not sure I can watch another minute of that selfish prick ( let’s undo and re do up the gloves every ball) stink it up. If he gets the nod for the 2nd test, I think I’m done.

1. Gabba test is irrelevant to whether the Nagpur pitch is 'doctored'.

2. Given the strength of RSA's pace attack the Gabba pitch wasn't particularly to our advantage, heading in to the match. Also I hardly think the board wanted a 2-day test. Just a howler from the grounds staff.

I think youre spot on, no way will he keep his mouth shut. Once Fox realises the public hate him , that he struggles to put a sentence together and provides no insight on the game he'll be looking for a bit of cash within 2 years of retirement
