Just had a quick look at the undefeated season page. Got Hope Valley undefeated in Div8 Reserves in 2008. Should be Div 6 Reserves

Are all players and all games listed?

Is it the clubs or leagues responsibility?
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

They used to list all games - so for instance if you looked up Booney it would show you the season games played, then lower it would have say 2014 - D1 - 14 games, 156 goals, 15 times in best etc.

Question: With so many massive games milestones being reached this season, is it easier these days for players to play longer in their lives? Is 300+ games becoming "normal"?

While missing games makes it harder to play 300, i think the 'acceptable' action of having a few games a season off means its easier to play more seasons.

In all seriousness though do agree this generation will have the opportunity to player older in life than previous generations, which imo will be the case for all levels of sport.

-Gym culture in today's society.
-Greater education, the days of making blokes spend summer doing road runs and gaining shin splints for pre-season is long gone.
-Better understanding of the need to rest and not play through injuries
-Rules that protect players better
-Coaches who use the bench for rotations etc.

Definitely agree with this. I think having the C grade play at the same ground as A and B grade with benches of up to 7 players is also a major contributing factor.

When I first started playing seniors (back in 2004), many of our A and B grade pulled the pin altogether when they retired as C grade was often a standalone game at a different ground with limited support staff available and a real disconnect from the higher grades. Thats been completely turned out on its head now and we are seeing guys play on for much longer.

I also think the 10:15am timeslot helps for those blokes who dont want to lose their whole saturday or have family commitments later in the day.

The 10:15 time slot at the same venue imo is easily the biggest influence on players prolonging their careers. I’d second the clamping down on thuggery compared to 10-15 years ago. People that play footy still need to go to work and having a far safer playing environment minimises the serious incidents - Community culture towards thuggery has largely changed too.
