Someone knows
the book unmasking the killer of the missing Beaumont children by Stuart Mullins and Bill Hayes says it all
Thanks - just bought it

Any clues about Joanne Ratcliffe and Kirste Gordon?
No unfortunately very sad story that one, was was only a young teen the day that happened and selling ice creams etc as a walk around seller that day at Adelaide Oval, crapped myself when heard about it and even more so when a Detective knocked on our door a few days later wanting to know if i had seen them or anything at all at the oval that day

A mate of mine is adamant it was Von Einem who approached him around the time of these happenings when he was walking home from school one afternoon. Pulled up along side him and asked him for directions then asked if he could get in and show him the way. He declined.

I can still remember Dad never letting me out of his site wherever we went in the 70s.
Was a scary time.

Same - 4 sons. We were constantly at risk
A friend of mine was taken by von Einem and co. It was early in the piece and they let him go after a couple of weeks
I remember my parents saying it was safer to be a girl although I was also friends with Tania Kenny

I went up before Richard Brown on speeding charges when I was about 20
Most chilling experience I've ever had - the way he looked at me the whole time
I have never forgotten it

My mum would tell us the Richard Kelvin story as a deterrent for us wondering off. It worked... Awful

Sadly he didn’t wander off, he was seeing a friend off at the bus stop one street from his home.
I drive past where he was abducted everyday, still sends shivers up my spine.

Actually it was one charge - 65 in a 60 zone. You had to go up in those days. I never did it again - Brown scared the life out of me

I reckon it affected my old man's parenting too. He knew a couple suspects in the Beaumont case through work. Also, I was born around the time of the Truro murders.

While von Einem deserves no sympathy, he was definitely the scapegoat for others.

For those who are a bit more in the know, is the Evergrande liquidation ($500 billion) going to be the sneeze from which the whole world catches a cold?

I remember playing footy with him when it happened. Was playing Under 18's at Lockleys, and the coach said we had a new lad out and told us who he was. Rob Kelvin was huge name at the time, reading the News on Ch.9, so we were all like, that's Rob Kelvins son etc. He was bit of troubled kid, and the Dad brought him out to try and get him involved in a club, help him get his life on the right track. Then he was murdered that week and nobody could believe it. The whole thing was terribly sad.

Modus operandi was:

1. Party pub - Buckingham Arms was a favourite spot for them
2. Good looking sheila would rub up to you
3. Lets go to (insert nightclub) in town - I'll drive
4. "Here - have a drink of water"
5. Goodnight Irene

Probably still happens today

Ask the Pilot.....

January
Sick and tired you've been hanging on me
You make me sad with your eyes
You're telling me lies
Don't go
Don't go

January
Don't be cold
Don't be angry to me. You make me sad
Come and see
Oh
January
Don't go
Don't go

Life gets me higher
I can show
I can go
I can wake up the world
Little world gotta know you
Gotta show you

Sun
Like a fire
Carry on
Don't be gone
Bring me out of my home
Sweet home
Gotta know me
Gotta show me
You've been facing the world
You've been chasing the world.

January
Sick and tired you've been hanging on me
Time
It's a flyer
Sunny days
Fly away
English summers are gone.
So long
Gotta go up
Gotta grow up.

Thankfully Jan/Feb/March tend to go quickly which is great as footy season will almost be here!
Probably goes quicker these days too as there's so many decent sports to watch on TV unlike the old days when we were limited to cricket, tennis and golf.
I find Oct-Dec always drags so purposeley book holidays then (and before school holidays is a bonus)

The ruling came from a Hong Kong court which does not necessarily mean it will be enforced. Its value as derived by the share market has dropped 99% since 2017 and its liquidation will not cover more than $300 million out of $500 billion in debt.

The investors and those who are customers with goods and or services owing to which they have paid or at least paid a deposit also lose. The flow on effect will hurt many. Will the Chinese Government play a role? Not sure.

Luckily many economies are solid at the moment and it’s collapse will not be as severe as it would have been three years ago.
