Re: 2024 Grand Final - Norwood v Glenelg
Modern history probably favours the Bays as I think only 3 minor premiers have won the flag in the SANFL-AFL era? Whether it be winning through from the Elim or bouncing back from a Quali loss, both of which used to be super rare, can think of at least 3 clubs to do it in the last 10 years.

Maybe its because I'm registered in NSW; not SA - amazing the promotions I get that Mrs Jimmy doesn't because she's registered in SA & they are banned

Re: 2024 Grand Final - Norwood v Glenelg
Cant split the 2 sides.
Glenelg have 3 or 4 who can kick multiple goals and Norwood have more of a spread of scorers so which is easier to combat?
Legs have a better defence but on the day can they hold the Bays big guns for long enough.
Should be a ripper of a game and perhaps now Norwood have seen how Hosie performed they'll "risk" playing Panos.

Re: 2024 Grand Final - Norwood v Glenelg
There's no excuses for Norwood, they are fit, fresh, talented, extremely well coached and primed for a good showing. If they can win their share of clearances, they can kick a winning score. I'll be interested in how the Glenelg defence will cope with long kicks into the forward 50 and the pressure placed on their clearances out of defence. We all know how Glenelg will try and isolate their own forwards, so Norwood will need numbers back to block the supply. I'm expecting Norwood to win by around 5 goals, particularly if Norwood fans turn up in huge numbers, but I certainly respect Glenelg for getting to the GF. Come on Norwood, let's get number 32 !

Re: 2024 Grand Final - Norwood v Glenelg
A chance for Glenelg to put an exclamation mark on an impressive era, I think I’m right in saying McBean, Reynolds, Snook, Proud and Bailey are aiming for their 3rd premiership. Darren Reeves in just his 2nd year as coach going for back to back.
Likewise Norwood, who snuck victory from North Adelaide in 2022 and go in favourites to add another in 2024 under Jade Rawlings. Panos going for his 3rd if selected, having been a part of the 2014 premiership as well.
I was surprised these two hadn’t met on Grand Final day since 1982. The previous two premiers, both teams know what it takes and have what it takes. Glenelg’s firepower up forward has underpinned their successful era and with Hosie returning in such impressive fashion last week and McBean and Reynolds looking as strong as ever,I think Glenelg can put enough scoreboard pressure on to keep in the game, even if Norwood get on top around the ground.
Should be a great game. Looking forward to watching from the Cornes Deck.

Scharenberg going for his 3rd flag too.
Boof McCarthy if selected in line for his 3rd as well.

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Glenelg get this easy.
Astronomical price for them and they have been longer.
Glenelg by 6 goals.

Re: 2024 Grand Final - Norwood v Glenelg
Looking at Flashscore, is it correct Norwoods last loss was against Glenelg?
In that match Norwood were goal-less in 2nd half?
Looks like Norwood don't know how to play Glenelg and norwood should just stay at CIBO on Parade on Sunday arvo...

I thought that was the number mentioned, if not I’d think not far off. Quick Google reveals years the Minor Premier failed:stampy wrote:sure its only 3? we were mp's 2019 and last yearJK wrote:Modern history probably favours the Bays as I think only 3 minor premiers have won the flag in the SANFL-AFL era?
