Re: Grade Cricket
Can games be awarded to opposition sides when the host club has no bearing on the management of the ground?

In my opinion, probably not, but I guess this will be a good test case if Glenelg club want to take it to a tribunal.

West Torrens are scheduled to play Glenelg on 14th Dec for a T20 at Henley Oval. Move the T20 to the Tuesday night prior and replay the Sat/Sun game that weekend.

The SACA cleared the ground as fit to play on before the game. West Torrens was willing to play, Glenelg was not. Not sure what the role of the umpires was in all this.

Re: Grade Cricket
Who cleared the ground?
Does someone from SACA go to all the grounds for inspections beforehand?
Or do you just mean the curator, who is ostensibly "SACA" because they effectively pay his salary?

This is Tony Clifton! A name to respect! A name to fear!

Glenelg lost their appeal tonight apparently, draw stands. Think if they want to take it further still then WT will try and get the full 20 points as they wanted to play as Wedgetail correctly points out.

Re: Grade Cricket
Final round of the T20 comp today, before the three round knockout.
Glenelg have an opportunity to knock out defending champions West Torrens, who would join the so far winless Uni, Prospect, Southerns and Adelaide on the sidelines if they lose.
If West Torrens win it would come down to run rate.
Most likely Woodville would need to beat East Torrens, and if they did, Northerns, who have the bye, would miss out.

Think WT be up against it, few key outs with Neilson wife expecting and Drew called up to the Heat as replacement player, plus Bays get McInerney, Scott and Conway back, take a miracle to win.
Unless both teams treat it as a Grand Final then obviously WT would beat them
PS is the oval safe enough to play? 1st Grade not played home all season

A couple of re-matches in the Quarter Finals coming up at Karen Rolton/Park 25 next Saturday. The semi-finals follow the quarters on the same day. Plenty of action to see who will play off in the Final at Adelaide Oval in early Feb. Good programming. It's become a great venue for cricket.

Game 1: Tea Tree Gully (1st) vs Kensington (8th) at Karen Rolton
Game 2: Port Adelaide (2nd) vs West Torrens (7th) at Park 25 #2

I would be surprised if he plays again this season. This is the fourth time he has done similar thing. It cost him his Redbacks Rookie contract as they lost patience with him. Has to get eight weeks with his past record.
He has some serious issues he needs to work out. Such a talent that is going to waste.
Heard Tim Paine went to watch him today looking at a replacement player for the Strikers, as he is the most in form batter in the 20/20 comp. He arrived for the fourth ball of the match and that’s the first thing he saw. Straight away put a line thru his name and said he is done.
Can understand if Ryan knew he was coming to watch why he reacted like he did, the pressure and knowing he wasted the opportunity. Unfortunately, doubt he will ever get another chance, even though he is still relatively young

Re: Grade Cricket
Ryan King 2 game suspension I believe
So in theory, could complete the suspension on Saturday afternoon if ET win their Quarter Final on Saturday morning
