Dont know about the reasons ect but you're right about being one goal up, one goal down.
The low scoring is an attraction to the game, and it means 90 minutes / 90 emotions as they say, you ride every kick, every header, they all could be the game changer.
Similar theory to if you had to have the choice most would prefer watching a low scoring cricket test match then a run fest.
