No doubt they would be fantastic ATM, my point was at some point they have to get some new blood in as these blokes are in their 60’s and 70’s.
Times have changed, players attitude have changed.
Plus :
1) They understand the Port Adelaide Football Club like few others would
2) They're part of organizations not individuals working alone ( they're a special breed! )
3) They wouldn't be there to hold the players hands, they'd be there to look at how the organization is structured
Port have maintained under Koch that stability is paramount and in most organizations I would agree with that. Changes in key personnel for change sake in business ( and that's what AFL club are now ) doesn't always equate to successful management. I'd argue it's the opposite, but identifying if those key personnel are the right people for the job today is the key.
We're changing our coach, we all know that. Koch has alluded to his tenure coming to an end in the next year or two. The CEO role I believe is more about business than football. Davies as football boss is the one who I think needs to be moved on next.

The Creed is strong with these blokes, does it have the same impact on players now days?
Some of the names I've heard have Port connections but have been in other organizations. I hope they come off as I think they'll be good additions.

Would you also include they need to have been around AFL clubs in more recent years?Booney wrote:I don't mind them being Port people but like Carr they need to have been to and experienced other clubs.Brodlach wrote:I’m not arguing with you Booney as I certainly can see the short term benefits. I found during the late 2010's and early 2020's at Centrals they kept getting ex type people involved to provide opinion ect. This was all great but it was coming from a rear view mirror rather than with the direction SANFL football was heading into the mid to now late 2020's.

Re: PAFC 2025
9 of our best 24 missing this weekend. 7 of them won't play again in 2025.
Going to be a long last month.
Geelong in Geelong, Fremantle at home, Carlton away, Gold Coast at home. 6 losses in a row to finish Hinkley's tenure.
This year has been incredibly well managed.

Probably fitting in the end, he did say he would walk once we couldn't make the finals.Booney wrote:9 of our best 24 missing this weekend. 7 of them won't play again in 2025.

I won't bother going too much into my other views, I'm always going to be a tad dirty that we really let Robbie Gray & Travis Boak down.

It's usually when they get moved on. I don't think there would be many lining up though, perhaps only West Coast for a packet of skittles and a home brand fruit box.Dutchy wrote:Willie is contracted next year
