Re: Things that you rate!
Probably more the things you admire............my 7 year old daughters exuberance for giving everything a crack.
Played her first competitive netball game two weeks ago in what ended up being 30mm of rain, game was against kids that were nearly 10 years old as happens in country sport. They knew they got smashed despite no scoreboard but she was stoked with a couple of intercepts against a bigger kid. However the rain and wet windy conditions at Eudunda deterred her a bit.
Despite that she was willing to have another crack and participated in an under 9's netball carnival up at Quorn on the weekend for our club. This was a highly competitive tournament and the kids were the youngest side out there. They won one of their five games but my god they had a crack every single second of each game and was an absolute joy to watch their team spirit with the very odd goal they scored.
Then last night she wanted to have a crack at her first all girls Auskick footy training. Once again the Clare winter hit and they got saturated but she had an absolute ball loving every minute of and despite being drenched asking if she could back again next week.
Also has her first singing lesson this Friday at school.
She just has a crack at everything, no fear of the unknown, no fear of failure, just gives everything a go thats offered. I've got to start living a lot more like her.

Re: Things that you rate!
#1 son strolling off to begin his Primary School placement this morning for the next 6 weeks, has wanted to be a teacher since he was 13 and has not deviated one bit, even when he didn't get the grades in year 12 to get automatic entry to Uni, he had a gap year, did extra studies and now is in his 3rd year. Now works as a SSO at his old primary school and at OHSC at Annesley.
Got a bit lucky that the school (Coromandel) is only 7 minute drive from our place.

Nice, hopefully all goes well. My wife has taught at "Coro" for many years, and eldest boy attends there despite it being a bit of trek from home. Good school overall.Dutchy wrote:#1 son strolling off to begin his Primary School placement this morning for the next 6 weeks, has wanted to be a teacher since he was 13 and has not deviated one bit, even when he didn't get the grades in year 12 to get automatic entry to Uni, he had a gap year, did extra studies and now is in his 3rd year. Re: Things that you rate!
He's probably learnt more in his time as an SSO than he will in the placement! They should give the kids some RPL, I reckon.
