Re: 2025 Adelaide Footy League - Division 7
I feel like Flinders Uni are really up against it as a footy club.
I'm not sure how many rural kids/interstate kids go to Flinders for uni, given it's a bit out out of the way. The new train line helps but it's still hard to get to.
Plus, the new campus in the city would mean the non-Adelaide kids going to this campus wouldn't have any connection down south.
The other clubs seem to have it covered right through the grades and/or standard of footy.
I feel like the attraction of playing there is always going to be as a social club.

From the outside looking in it seems they have had a fair turn over of coaches the last few years. Seems that they have a new coach every year. Cant have stability in a club if you’re changing coach every year. It would be tough being a Div 7 club and coaches seem to want to coach higher once they have a year of coaching A Grade.wenchbarwer wrote:I feel like Flinders Uni are really up against it as a footy club.

You would have to get a coach who is willing to do the hard yards to build some structure and the club would need to back him in for a few years to get players and give the club some identity onfield.

My repetitive post was pretty accurate - Elizabeth dominated, Brahma improved and finished 3rd, Hackham got close, Mitchell Park played finals and Smithfield got the spoon.J Langer.5 wrote:Typical Bedge post—it's the same comments every few posts. The only thing that changes is the division or the team. It's starting to get a bit repetitive, mate. The Bedge wrote:You'd think so.. but footy's a funny game.
Expect Brahma to improve on last year, Hackham have been inching closer to the mark for a few years now and Flinders Uni is an unknown quantity.
Mawson Lakes + Central United should remain competitive.. and Mitchell Park are due for a return to finals.
Smithfield is probably the only side I struggle to see showing improvement to be honest.. although their B grade played off in a GF last year so who knows.

Possibly, only went down by 161 points last outing and the Eagles coming off the break following the fortnight break before that match. The Bedge wrote:Central United any sort of chance to pull off the upset of the century?Bluedemon wrote:X Convenience Oval

Nope. More chance of the North/South finishing ahead of schedule. The Bedge wrote:Central United any sort of chance to pull off the upset of the century?Bluedemon wrote:X Convenience Oval

I actually give Central United a sniff of being within 50 points at quarter time.
