"Since the end of the 2023 Ashes Khawaja has passed 50 four times in 35 innings."
Massive red flag. Will turn 39 during Adelaide test.

The game looked past him a year ago. Other than the 200 in Sri Lanka on a dead pitch he has done nothing since 2023 ( maybe aone ot two half centuries at the most).
Better chance of finding an opener if you are giving 2 a go.

My Guess was right.ie "Since 2023 other than his 200 against Sri lanka he has scored 1 or 2 scores over 50)."
The 4 quoted is from after the 2023 ashes. He scored another 50 late in 2023. Only 3 scores >50 since 2023.

While we are scrambling to find an opening bat you would like to change 2?
Khawaja has a test avg of 43.9 as our opening bat, agree he is getting on like a number in the squad.
Do we have a good young spinner in the country?

If they dont perform (we're 0-2 after Brisbane) make the necessary changes - noting there's two shield matches being played concurrently with the Perth and Brisbane test matches.
Perform or else.
*noting we can all cite examples when this hasn't occurred but by and large it has been the case.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Geez I'm getting toey for this one already, I can't wait.
Home summers against the Poms have been a pretty easy watch for a long time now but I get the feeling this one isn't going to be.

Re: The Ashes 25/26
Australia 4-0 with a washout.
Atkinson, Tongue, Potts will be tripe. Bashir will add to a long list of failed tourist spinners in Oz. Unless Wood and Archer both fire for 5 tests England cant get 20 wickets and we know both of them will break down after one hot day in the field, only question will be do they breakdown before Stokes stops bowling this series.
England will have their moments with the bat but with Starc, Boland, Lyon you have 3 world class bowlers + Green & Webster combining to make the best 5th bowler in world cricket.
Smith will fire one last time, Labuschagne is back in form and will average 45+ and Trav will stand up to ensure the Aussies hit over 300 more often than not.

Re: The Ashes 25/26
I believe it is a reference to the cleanout that occurred after the disaster that was the 2016 Hobart test vs South Africa.Lightning McQueen wrote:I've tried to read this 13 times and I am still bewildered.Armchair expert wrote:If we are 0-2

That test was also when CA gave Warner the instruction to do what must be done, before later denying the knew what was going on.

Some kn0b jockey would have done a risk assessment on toxic masculinity and determined that if Bay 13 is not available for the yobbo's to meet up in, then there is a decreased chance of drinks being drunk and snakes of beer cups being formed.

Bay 13 gets exposed to the full sun from 12 onwards. If it’s hot, those pasty faced, overweight Pommy flogs will wilt in the heat. Can’t handle our sun, can’t handle our beers

ABC’s anti-betting crusade claims another scalp, ABC Radio dumps Glenn McGrath from its Ashes lineup because of his association with Bet365.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Re: The Ashes 25/26
ABC boot Glenn McGrath off the commentary team because he has a link to agency Bet 365......who are a Gold Partner of Cricket Australia.
