Re: Soooooo, how's this weather?
It won't be; the minimum recorded is 29Trader wrote:33.9 was the old record according to BOM, 29th Jan 2009.Pseudo wrote:According to the BOM website the minimum was 34.1 at 6.40 am.
If this site is to be believed then Adelaide's highest recorded minimum temperature is 33.5.
So we might have just seen the record broken.
Data here: https://www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages ... _All.shtml
But yes, either way 34.1 seems to be a record.
Reason being, it's recorded from 9am the previous day to 9am this morning. The 29 was from just after 9 yesterday morning.
Maximums are recorded from 9am that day to 9am the following morning.
It's done that way to ensure continuity from back in the days when somewhere like a post office worker would make a note of the record when they opened up at 9am.

It's a record for the highest overnight low (recorded between 6pm and 9am).spell_check wrote:It won't be; the minimum recorded is 29Trader wrote:33.9 was the old record according to BOM, 29th Jan 2009.Pseudo wrote:According to the BOM website the minimum was 34.1 at 6.40 am.

The 24 hour low will be shortly after 9am yesterday morning.

That maybe so, but what you quoted of Pseudo was mentioning the record I was referencing - the 9am-9am record of 33.9 in Jan 2009.Trader wrote:It's a record for the highest overnight low (recorded between 6pm and 9am).spell_check wrote:It won't be; the minimum recorded is 29Trader wrote:33.9 was the old record according to BOM, 29th Jan 2009.Pseudo wrote:According to the BOM website the minimum was 34.1 at 6.40 am.

Regarding the record you mention, from a quote made by someone who works at the BOM in climate data, says those records (the overnight records) are from 2001 onwards.

Mr Dickhead thank you, on a positive note, I was 1.1kg lighter when I got home. The 6:30am today was very pleasant, quite humid though.dedja wrote:WADHLightning McQueen wrote:Some dickhead that looks like me and has the same name as me decided to go do a 5km jog/walk around 4pm yesterday, by about 7pm it had dropped about 10 degress it seemed and the breeze was quite coolish.

It was great to be able to open the house up last night, would rather natural breezes than a/c every day of the week.

Mowed last night after work and the clouds had enough grey about them to suggest they may be giving it a go but that soon blow over and nothing was delivered.amber_fluid wrote:Watering the garden this morning and got a few drops of rain(literally a few)
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

Property behind us has huge gum trees, but backyard is covered in bark, branches and leaves due to the wind.
I mow twice a week currently to just clean up the mess.

Be thankful it’s just bark and leaves instead of a branch dissecting your house.

Oh there are decent size branches too but I have a deep block of land so clear of the house. Not sure our chickens are happy either, their pen is full of crap
