BATHROOM when one means "dunny" "sh*thouse" "crapper" or "bog" in fact I hate all the americanisms that have crept into Australian culture "AWESOME" is another one. Before the sheik gets stuck into me I am not anti-American. I just think Australian culture is going down the bathroom.

This one's been getting a hammering over the last few days......"We've got to hit the back of the net" or "All we have to do is hit the back of the net" or "It's all about hitting the back of the net".

yeah your right... that has been hammered a fair bit.

But it's a good point though, it is all about hitting the back of the net.

No point having tons of scoring opportunites if you can't hit the back of the net. :) :)

Agree 100%. Examples - 9/11 - here that's 9th of November; gas - here that's LPG, not petrol; halloween - though not originally American is basically from there, all it's about is a scab fest of lollies.

I'm sick of hearing Dasher's soapboxes about why this site should encourage discussions about the "C" word.

All of the above but I have a particular hatred of kids saying "My bad" when they stuff up. Kind of like a Yank 'Bugger!'

WTF does "my bad" mean anyway? I hate it! Is "bugger" the most accurate English translation?
