Ugh, don't get me started on Pyne. Maybe PNU will get lucky at the next election considering he'll be contesting a marginal seat.
We got three thousand once. Woot.

Exactly GG are asking and have rediculous amounts of money given to them (more than any club will ever see) they have already been given a great oval and lights.... time for them to stop whinging and actually do something pro active instead of argueing with the gov and get some foundations laid and build a club.

Re: SAAFL Div 5 2008
Rather than quote different people, ill just adress you all in one post.
We have always maintained the position that if our application for a grant was unsucessful we would take out a loan and build our own rooms and clubhouse. The issue here is that the previous prime minister had words come from his own mouth that said 'i award GGFC their funding'. Everyone knows that occured as it was well reported and documented.
We are now pissed off as the new government will not honour the pledge. It was not a "if we get elected",it was a "congragulations here you go".
In terms of sticking our hand out ....
Quite insulting and bitter approach really.
The regional development pathways scheme was in place for applications such as the one we made. There was an obvious recognition from the government that projects and facilities such as our need to take place all over the nation. Putting the pathway in place is reflective of this.
If you understand the fabric of our North Eastern community, you will know that Golden Grove in particular has be deprived of local sporting and community facilites for a long time. The huge vacant block lying between the golden way and atlantis drive was to be a huge sporting complex when the area was being developed by TTG council in collaboration with delfin. For a number of reasons this never went ahead. Young families, in particular mine, moved to the area on the promise and vision that was to be the 'active family' GG community. People in the area in general, let alone those associated with the football club should demand more respect regarding youth and community sporting facilites.
We are being proactive and putting into place systems and structures to get back the funding that has been promised us. Furthermore the club will be tailoring plans and remedies and actions to take if it all goes arse up in the end. Our action is evident by our involvment with the local media as well as the organisation of the petition. These are just starting point. To me, whingers are people that sit back on their ass and do nothing but complain. Considering the actions we have taken as a community/club and the individual efforts such as our President Ian Graham, who has dedicated his life to the club and cause, i do not see how for one second we can be anything close the whingers.
People must recognise that it is not just the GGFC that has been hit. The TTG soccer club and other tenants of the tilley reserve complex have been denied there funding. It is a slap in the face for the enitre TTG council and North Eastern community. Politically not a wise move to make considering the members of all the associated clubs hold more than enough voting power in the seat of makin to return the seat to the coalition. Don't blame me i voted liberal

No, blame Howard and his quest to placate his raging ego, which subsequently led the Coalition to one of the worst election defeats ever. And now the party and, therefore, the opposition to the incumbency, is a bloody shambles. My point is that you can hope the Liberal Party rebuilds itself enough to make the next election a contest and you will find Labor may end up throwing the money back at you in order to secure the seat of Makin. But that will be two years before you'll find out if they will do that and at least two and a half years before you actually see the money.

I'm thinking of making all the GG grant stuff a separate thread kiddies, just so this doesn't get too far off the track of talking div 5.

Re: SAAFL Div 5 2008
One could be forgiven for thinking I was a public servant with the amount of work time I spend on here, but no, I have no affiliation to any party. I am a pot-loving, tree-hugging hippy though. Okay, not really, I don't smoke and I have a chainsaw license.
GG are merely victims of politics and flaws in the current system.

Yes, it is. It's probably not much consolation anyway to get done by 250 points, and not 450.
