I spotted the West Torrens 1974-76 guernsey during the ABC coverage of the Eagles/West game.

I reckon glenelg v eagles matches should have the away team in an alternate strip.
Bit hard to tell the difference from the outer sometimes

yep, i think its gold...they should use it as an away jumper.

can someone come up with the sturt jumpers of the past...i know we started out i think with the light blue hoop and dark background, i have a pic from sturts 'every game in detail book' from 1909 that should the light blue hoop. The 40's jumper had a larger light blue hoop around the middle.

the 50's i reckon is when they changed to teh SFC logo on the front...again from the same book a pic from 1953 shows this.

the same jumper is worn right up to today with the only change being an even lighter sky blue being the predominant colour. I dont mind this but would love to see them go back to the other light blue, either way i ******* love it :D:D.

for a few years in 93-94, they used a crappy light blue with collars and weird american style numbers...that didnt last long.

can anyone provide pics on here of these jumpers???

when i get a moment ill look up sturtpics.com to get some.

Jimmy, pretty sure Sturt started with dark blue, with a light blue sash.

Thats what they wore for the Norwood Oval/Sturt FC centenary celebration match in 2001.

I've always preferred the North jumper that was red with a white yoke, the one they wore through 50s and 60s. I also like the look of the South Melbourne style jumper that they wore for a brief period in the 1930s. I have never understood the Big V in the middle of the jumper. Perhaps a North fan could explain that one for me. I know it was introduced when Mike Patterson came over in the early 1970s, but The Bigf V always stood for Victoria to me.

Some of those jumpers look identical to me Ian, at least at that small size. Case in point, the three candy stripe jumpers. Is there some salient difference between these that escapes my eye?

I grew up with the Victorian style V and for years it was my favorite, but the last few years I've leant towards the older high uo on the shoulders V (the broad one, middle of the 2nd row).

The worst, there's no competition, the candy stripes wins hands down.

I like the thick V up high on the jumper. Looks much better than the V currently sitting on the stomach.

My fav is actually the white with the red vee, I'd love to see that as a permanent away top.
I prefer the Vee higher up as per the 50s and 60s guernsey too, I have two of our guernseys from when McDermott first brought it back and for some reason the Vee gets lower and lower every year or two.
Although not prevelent in the pic above the candy stripes had some subtle differences, I think in the amount of stripes and size of them BUT so has the Vee since its been brought back which only has one pic above so Im not sure what the go is there.
North wore the Candy Stripes for the first 16 years I followed North and had some success in them but I think that was by far the worst guernsey. Some people like them because I think a couple of flags blinded their fashion sense. ;)
