No idea, just heard those lads weren't playing this season and the reports from pre-season were they will struggle this year.

People can talk up smithfields chances all they want. As yes we've won back to back flags but a step up into div 5, all recruits have fallen through and no big men after bellman retiring and wanganeen moving on. I dare say its gonna be a long year. Looking forward to it.

Wanganeen is a big loss. Still have a number of very handy players though, think Smithfield will remain competitive if they can find a suitable ruck replacement for Bellman.

They'll be competitive in 5, the gap from 6 to 5 of late hasn't been significant with the last 3 premiers from 6 playing in a preliminary final in 5 the following year. Although last year wasn't the strongest division 6 there has been, they'll continue along similar lines as will Lockleys.
Spoke to a Smithfield guy on the weekend & he was very happy with the recruits. Was also reasonably confident that Bellman may be lured out of retirement post preseason! Clever by him.
Was very interesting to hear that he believed that he Smithfield had Webber offer to come back, only to say, no thanks mate.

Seen the webber at training last Thursday and I believe they offered him $ and he is now back there, will be a good year for the panthers, even better to get bellman back!!
