Hey, Collingwood generate money that is distributed to the recipient clubs, why don't they make more money? Huh?!?!

If we could acknowledge our heritage we could help raise revenue.

Shut up! No!
Not sure what you're getting at sorry
Collingwood bang on about the revenue they generate but when a recipient club, like Port, have a means to generate revenue they shoot it down.

Is that so? I understand the Power have cornered the Chinese market.

Right gotcha. You mean the same Collingwood who monopolise public holiday blockbusters, friday night time slots and playing against the biggest drawing teams?

Imo the marketability is the logo not the colours anyway.

Geez the amount of NY Yankees and LA Dodgers hats I see getting around in any variety of colour is crazy.

Even Liverpool who are literally known as the REDS have somehow managed to do ok globally despite wearing pretty much every colour on the planet as a second strip.

Exactly right.

Bring some revenue to the game by other means outside of blockbuster timeslots or merchandise sales. FFS, it's not that hard!

On field? Not in any way.

Off field? I guess there is a chance a Collingwood supporter might search "Black and white guernsey" and end up on the Port Store site, find the guernsey, pick their size, add it to the cart, enter their email address, go to check out, enter credit card details and buy the guernsey then ignore the confirmation email from the Port Store. Or I guess they might go to the airport, fly to Adelaide, get an Uber to Alberton, go into the store, buy the guernsey, go back to the airport, fly back to Melbourne and go to a game wearing it. Egg on face or what!

The Collingwood Football Club.
The club is marketed internationally on the above.

Back in the sanfl days the Port Adelaide Football club fiercely protected its brand. Everybody knew who Port were
.
There is absolutely no way you would've allowed anyone to come into the competition and wear black and white.

I personally have no idea why heritage round got canned, I loved it.
We are losing so much of the fabric of our game, some of it for the better, so I'd like to see clubs heritage celebrated every year.
I notice with disappointment you didn't refer to port magpies brand protection.

No. As a permanent jumper. Then you can wear the prison bars all the time
So @Booney, a fan of a permanent version of the prison bar, yeah/nah

No, our current V design is excellent, either in the black with teal/white V or white with black/teal V.

Bars once a year, home Showdowns. That's it.

Bollocks !! that’s it for now.

I guarantee port will want more than one game a year in the prison bars.

The heritage/showdown is just a precedent to ask for more.

That’s why the AFL needs to sit down with both clubs and draw up a ironclad contract stating for x years that Port can only wear it for the home showdown and on no other occasions.

Then they can demand the Reserves to dispense of the PB’s too ;)

They have a contract already no need for a new one . AFL was asked to make a ruling last year and agreed with Collingwood. Port would be fined and docked match points if port break the current contract was the ruling.

Game set match Collingwood.

Port need to move on or accept compromise.

That's right, the "greatest club in the land" who've won 4 flags in 85 years.
Whoops, there goes another year. Whoops, there goes another pint of beer.

This. The current home strip of black with white and teal V is one of the best looking guernseys in the comp.

If Port are so passionate about the bars, they can easily just leave the AFL and wear them in the SANFL

If they could afford the licensee fee. I think 50 million should suffice.

Make it 60. They still owe sanfl 10.
