In January and about to hit a significant birthday milestone I decided enough was enough and time to get fit and lose some weight.

So for nearly 2 months now Ive been riding my bike as much as I can, probably average every 2nd day I get out and do between 10kms-20kms, I live at Flagstaff Hill so they do involve climbs which helps. Ive really enjoyed it and without changing my eating habits much Ive dropped 7 kilos and have gained some fitness and generally feel a lot better. Ive got shocking kness and even them are started to feel good.

Im down to 118kgs and am aiming at knocking of 5 kilos at a time, under 115 is my next goal by sometime in March, ideally I would like to get under 100 but Im not setting long term goals, just knocking off small ones as I go along. I would also like to get my riding so I can complete the TDU challenge in 2012.

Ive always gone into diets/exercise with big goals, but have found this time its so much easier to knock off small ones as you go along.

I'm helping out a young cricketer at the moment, and he struggles with batting...

Last week tried something different, and said "just go out there and hit a hundred.."

With a previous HS of 5, it was no surprise for him to look a bit shocked, but the theory is, if he tries to hit 100, and scores 30 or 40, then he feels like he's failed, but if thirty or forty becomes the standard, then it's easier to start aiming high...

Always go for big goals...

Also if you have a GPS enabled phone give this a go www.endomondo.com great little tool to record your workouts, distance, speeds, times, calories etc.

Having a record of previous treks on their site it inspires me to get out there and do PB's

yeah totally agree,

i look at weight loss alot like gambling...................................................................................every winner no matter how small is profit and not a loser.

73.1 kg today, so still higher than when I started out, but lower than at the end of January.

Solid month for me. Down 1.7kg. Going well,pretty pleased with the start of the new year after the disaster that was 2010. Pain free and re-enthused. :D
