I can't even get on today, keeps saying server is down.

Same.
Tried before work, smoko and now lunch. All three times server down.

Just keep trying even if it says the servers are down. I usually get on after the third try.

I just realised I have 2 x incense, which attracts Pokemon to your location for 30 mins. I just caught a Geodude at my desk.

I've actually just uninstalled it and I'm about to install it again to see if i can get it going. Hadn't got far enough in for to make any difference to my game.

Reinstalling it wont have any impact on the server issue. The problem is they have more people playing it than the servers can handle. It happens a lot with new game releases. Especially really popular ones like this.

UPDATE!!!

Just got a Rattata and a Zubat in the warehouse. Had to make up excuses to be there, but worth it.

I've had server issues but I keep persisting haha - i manage to get on easily after a couple of minutes - don't know if it's because i work in the city or not?

Anyway I'm up to 28 types of pokemon caught now, and have a few pokemon sitting at gyms.

Also there is a thing called a module - works the same as incense but you stick it on a pokestop.

When looking for pokemon, look for the leaves rustling on grass nearby - walk around those areas and they'll appear (sometimes lol)

Doubled up on a Ratata, but found out if you send them to Prof Oak, you get Candy that you need to evolve your Pokemon.

Yup, and to save time if you run into duplicates, when you catch them you can transfer straight away as well.

On a side note, i have Pokémon run away a lot now too - i have to throw "razz berries" to catch them

I haven't failed to catch one yet, but I'm only level 4, so assume it gets harder as the Pokemon get better.

Fruitful night tonight, had to go out to Gullies and picked up an eevee, a caterpie and a Clefairy! Then on the way home stopped into HV and all I got was 3 doduos..still only just reached level 4 though so cant even get to any gyms yet,

me gets bit more interesting at level 5 - you can do the gym's and pick a team.. bit of banter at footy last night - the club is a gym, so of course phones were out after training fighting for bragging rights
