I watched the start and then the end of the innings, the Aussie bowlers started really well but have left NZ off the hook. At 3/19 getting their best two players cheaply and with no Ross Taylor ajd Colin Munro I thought we were a good chance to roll through them but I think we let NZ off the hook as they finish at 5/184. Sams started very well but went at 10 an over in the end FFS as did Richardson and Agar. While I've seen every other of tonight's bowling options bowl economically in T20I's and/or the BBL everytime I watch Sams bowl he's expensive.
Conway batted brilliantly and had important partnerships with Phillips and Neesham but had had some luck, dropped by Stoinis and he almost gets a maiden T20I hundred.

Finch gone early, very similar to Guptill's dismissal. Let's see what Phillipe has got now!

Marsh played pretty well, him and Agar have given the score some credibility but it's too little too late.
The dismissal of Stoinis was yuck, out to spin again.
The Kiwi's catching has been brilliant.

Look what happens when you play your B-side

As soon as the South Africa tour was postponed the squad to New Zealand should have been changed to the strongest possible

Piss weak by the selectors

Lol, it’s Mickey Mouse cricket.
I’d rather the best players are playing in our domestic comps

The Armchair Expert raises a fair point

Heres a question [unless he is currently injured]

Should David Warner
A : Be playing Sheffield Shield cricket [ VI did beat NS recently]
B : Be playing in this 20/20 series v NZ
C : Commentating as he was today in NZ ...

One game completed with four to go, I'll reverse my judgement until we play at least three or four games to see what happens and how this squad of T20 specialists picked from the BBL go. Obviously tonight didn't go to plan at all especially with the bat, hopefully the Aussies can perform better on Thursday night. Worldies like Boult and Southee are a completely different prospect to BBL opening bowlers and Sodhi is a class T20 leg spinner.
I agree with Jim in the sense that I like our test match players not playing T20 and playing in the Sheffield Shield.

I read today Warner is still recovering from his groin strain which is the reason why he didn't play against Victoria last week and has been left out of the NSW squad for Thursday's SS match also against Victoria at Bankstown Oval.

It's another form of cricket where young lads can aim to represent Australia, we still need to give it our best shot, especially against the shaggers.

A 50 metre freestyle gold at the olympics still holds the same value as a 200 metre gold.

Well I personally am happy to send these BBL heroes over to play iT20 for Australia.. couple reasons:

1. Reward for good BBL form
2. Experience international cricket
3. Show that our BBL isn’t that great and shouldn’t be the currency for selecting Aussie sides (particularly test).
