Australian International Summer 2024/25
I still maintain that was a fair catch but can understand why there is some doubt

Re: Australian International Summer 2024/25
I wonder if the BCCI Vice President wants to chime in on DRS now?

Pant, Jadeja and Reddy are seemingly OK but we all know what they can do.Trader wrote:It's interesting isn't it.Lightning McQueen wrote:Why does their tail look so long bat their batting list looks so capable?
Their bottom 3 are terrible.
But 7&8 are above average.
It's a perplexing list.
It's always been an India thing, I remember them coming over in the mid 80's and every player had scored a first class ton.
Ravi Shastri is an interesting one, he has batted at every position except #11, has scored tons in 5 different positions and half centuries in 7.

If Smith was batting and that was given out it would be the biggest dummy spit of all time. He would take 5minutes to leave the field, carrying the bat by its girth and doing a neck injury from the violent shaking of the head

Re: Australian International Summer 2024/25
Would be good if we didnt give them a 3 over head start every time Hazelwood doesnt play.
Cummins is not a new ball bowler. You only get 10-12 overs with a new rock to make it count and we waste 3 every single time

I don't get the booing of any sportsman anywhere full stop.am Bays wrote:I seriously dont get the booing of Kholi. Yeah he's pushed the envelope of behaviour (our players arent orphans though) so why boo him?
Smacks of pettiness.
Kholi should not have bumped the 19 year old debutant though, that was about as popular as Carey's dismissal of Johnny Walker.

Imagine if Boland had been on a hat-trick when that was given not out!
Agreed that you can't give that out.

If India & BCCI hadn’t carried on so much about the last test match / DRS.. how would Wilson have viewed it?
There’s scepticism / pessimism within me that thinks close calls will go their way to avoid further negative imaging / scrutiny.

Surely the ball touching the ground was an 'optical illusion'?

Re: Australian International Summer 2024/25
Thought Ponting explained it and the new interpretation of the rule well - fingers under the ball, in control, even though it may touch some grass late doesn’t matter he’s always in control / holding it.am Bays wrote:Agreed, correct decision made based on the video evidence available.Booney wrote:Can't 100% give that out.
Rule was adjusted after the Starc catch in the Ashes where he caught it and put his hands down on the ground which was judged to have assisted in holding the ball into the hand, hence no catch.

Based on the vision I dont you can say the ball is in control because the ball isn't controlled until it is in Labuschagne's hands. The Bedge wrote:Thought Ponting explained it and the new interpretation of the rule well - fingers under the ball, in control, even though it may touch some grass late doesn’t matter he’s always in control / holding it.am Bays wrote:Agreed, correct decision made based on the video evidence available.Booney wrote:Can't 100% give that out.

Smith is parrying it up. if Smith had held it maybe Ponting's view stands.
