Re: Adelaide Hills Cricket (HCA, TVCA & A&EH) 2014/15.
Well what an embarrassing display by Scibs on the weekend, to be skittled for 37 in a GF and for the game to be over around 4 is not great. I heard they were 3 for 0 after two overs as well, I'm sure they would be shattered but congrats to meadows who showed they are by far and away the best team in the comp with their 6th GF win on the trot.
Would love to see a nairne V Meadows two day game, think nairne would be slight favourites as they have more depth now that meadows dont have russell and kris dawe from previous years but it would be a cracking match.

Caught bits and pieces of the AEHCA final. Great recovery from Nairne after being 6/120ish. Woodside dropped their bundle a bit during that final wicket stand, with a few tough chances put down and a confident appeal rejected. To their credit they fought the match out on Sunday and when the two Collins' combined for the 8th wicket there was a glimmer of hope.
Very good standard of cricket on display and certainly a peg or two above the TVCA, especially in the bowling department.

I understand there is discussion under way in the TVCA about changing the A grade programme going forward to ALL one day games. Any TVCA guys on here that can confirm this is a reality? Apparently a few more clubs suggesting that they may move associations if changes aren't implemented... sign of the times I think.

AGM was held a few sunday's ago following the presentation lunch. All clubs were asked to vote on changing the fixture to all one-dayers. This motion was outvoted 6-3, so the status quo will remain for 15/16. One club in particular who have been very vocal on their desires for all one-dayers the past 4 or 5 years may be seriously looking to play at neighbouring league, which will be a big loss for the TVCA. I suspect another club may also be sniffing around elsehwere.

I would be interested to know who those clubs are, and what leagues they may be looking at Saintal... appreciate you may not wish to share that on an open forum though...

Re: Adelaide Hills Cricket (HCA, TVCA & A&EH) 2014/15.
Well its no secret to those in TVCA that Palmer have been 'threatening' to head to Murray Towns for quite a while now. With another motion of all one dayers dismissed, a TVCA premiership under their belt, and their U15s having enjoyed playing in the MTCA comp the past 3 or 4 years, perhaps that threat may now become reality?
The other club I wont mention b/c it's nothing more than a hunch.
i was surprised by the 6-3 result. Last season it was 5-4. A lot of one-sided two day matches in TVCA as half the teams struggle to bat more than 35-40 overs. I guess there are still some of us that enjoy the more traditional format though.

Thanks for that Saintal... lost a bit of touch with TVCA over the years. It's odd, because as a younger player, I preferred the 2 day format, but now, as an old fart - I am all for one dayers. The A&EH moved the A2 comp to all 1 day games this summer, and I think it was pretty well received talking to others throughout the season. Whether the A grade go that way in coming years remains to be seen.

How can Palmer get a juniors side but the rest of the comp can't, or can't at least get some merged sides going?
Would be disappointing if Palmer did leave. Would they really be good enough in Murray Towns given they are playing in the now-weaker TVCA?
Would the other club be Eden Valley into the lower Barossa grades?

Re: Adelaide Hills Cricket (HCA, TVCA & A&EH) 2014/15.
Good question re: Palmer and their healthy junior numbers. They appear to be a club with no shortage of volunteers and people willing to help out, which always helps.
Without knowing much about the MTCA I'd imagine they'd be competitive, but might lack the depth of the better sides?
No, EV are happy in TVCA playing two day cricket. The 3 clubs that pushed for all one-dayers were Birdwood, Springton and Palmer obviously.

I have not heard of any player movements as yet. I understand A grade as last year 7 teams. Also a change of "leadership" was on the cards at A&EH, can anyone confirm?

Is it true the association didn't even get a quorum of clubs to the AGM?

Joe Hill has taken over from Damien Nettle as the new President of A&EHCA. Will do a very good job imo.
Same 7 teams from last year indicated they would have an A Grade again this year.
Really need 1 of the other 7 clubs to step up but thats easier said than done.
AGM was well attended. Only 1 or 2 clubs of the 14 not represented.
Tipping that the Creeks will return to Finals action this year
Early market
Nairne $1.80
Strath $6.00
Woodside $6.00
L. Ck $6.00
Lobethal $8.00
Ashbourne $26.00
Wistow $126.00

Nope
Pretty hard to have an A Grade when they only have 1 senior team
That'd be a pretty rare occurrence id think ?
The Association are desperate to get an 8th A Grade team but it's gonna take a lot of negotiating to get it.
