Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 5 - 2020
I watched it yesterday after hearing about it. Thought the umpire handled it pretty well to be honest as that had the potential to get completely out of hand quickly.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

I thought a couple of bigger blokes on either side settled it down well too, as an umpire you just start pointing at people saying "allright, you're out next week, so are you, you're joining them etc......" then they start dispersing.

Sumner surely?
High & Intentional definitely - probably lucky the player doesn't show any sign of damage/injury

Must've looked far worse than it was.

I couldn't hear him yelling "melee melee!"

Was a quality game of footy.
Both teams look to be big competitors this season, both quality outfits.
I thought Pooraka controlled the game. Just too big and strong in the end.
Looks like they will be no match for Lockleys.
I watched this game yesterday and i thought salisbury were poor.no real key forward to kick to ..dominant ruckman but didnt take advantage of that and same old game plan..go wide...pooraka skills and hitting targets much better
I agree Salisbury were poor they were lucky to be in game a half time.
Salisbury ruckman won most taps midfield rarely got to it first, had two tallish forwards which Salisbury rarely has and continued to go wide and Pooraka kept on picking it off on most occasions and used ball way better going forward.
Pooraka just out played and outworked Salisbury.
I don’t know how Hee didn’t make Salisbury top 5,I could only find 3 to put in McPherson,Hee and ruckman others just made up cause you need 5.
This is a fair assessment of the game from my point of view. Pooraka were much cleaner forward of centre and were dominant around the clearances.
We have a bit of work to do.

Watched the second half pag. Any chance of Josh Mann just trying to get the footy and stop playing for frees. Kicked all your goals after halftime but the acting career seems to be the main focus over the corona break and not actual football.

Is that Matt Schmidt umpiring? Not sure you could get much better positioning on the little melee, so anything he has in a report would be pretty damaging.
For those playing along at home:

1st quarter 21:10:00 is a good starting point... keep an eye on Jacob Sumner (4), Cain Smith (31), Kyle O'Toole (23) and then look for the moment Corey Wheadon (10) decides he doesn't feel like playing for a month.
Just watched this. Anyone who says Sumner isn’t in trouble must’ve missed the swinging arm towards the head that I saw on the tape.

It’s a shoulder. You can see his arm isn’t raised it’s a bumping motion. Play on

We are still running with $5.00 stubbies and $7.00 rtd cans. Still the cheapest I’ve seen
$5 tinnies and $7.50 RTD's at Lockleys.

Come again?
This is the exact moment sumner makes contact with the player.
Arms down, he’s thrown a shoulder. Not his hands he never threw a punch

Arms down? Doesn't look like his arm is down to me, looks like he's in the process of delivering a decent clothesline.
I mean, yeah yeah, that's how I bump too, with my arm at a nearly 90 degree angle from the rest of my body.

Sumners arm has the armband, his elbow is out but looks like his hand is almost on his hip - the arm in the air is the Fitzroy player
My new Mantra - I am no longer available to things and people that make me feel like shit

31 for Roys deserved a slap in the mouth anyway.. I mean there was absolute no need to go back over the Jacob when he was lying on ground and shove him.. he doesn't do that and the whole thing doesn't happen.

You do realise that this is at contact?
His hand is at his hip pressed up on the Fitzroy players body.
Close your fist and put it on your hip, it’ll make the exact same shape as his in that picture.
Play on.
