Irra seems to have more skills than he had at South. A lot of pace as well.

3 quarter time
Sturt 9.11.65
Port 4.7.31
Sturt moving the footy so much easier and at speed. Port with so many school boy errors.

When i was lining up to get in I noticed that every second person in the line had a little cardboard complimentary free entry pass. No idea where they got them or why so many?!?

I think Alex it is the ticket they buy from the ticket box and walk down to the entry gate with.

Were any people 'locked out'? If so it's a shame because on any other ground you could fit at least 10k.

SANFL has been advised today that the AFL has completed an investigation into the behaviour of Port Adelaide listed-player Sam Powell-Pepper.
The AFL has concluded that Powell-Pepper engaged in behaviour unbecoming an AFL player. The AFL imposed a three game sanction, two of which have already been served, from the AFL competition but deemed that Powell-Pepper is available for SANFL selection.
When a player breaches the laws of the game because of on-field incident, the match penalty for the player applies to all competitions. However, matters of disciplinary sanction, such as inappropriate off-field behaviour, are not subject to the same requirement.
Powell-Pepper is therefore available for selection and will play in today’s grand final re-match at Peter Motley Oval.
SANFL was not consulted by the AFL and was informed of this outcome only today. As a consequence of these circumstances, SANFL will be reviewing its regulations with regards to the application of disciplinary sanction for AFL-listed players and how that impacts on its State League competition.
Good they had the guts to issue a statement about it, pity they didn't have the guts to stop him playing.

Capacity a bit down from usual.
They are building a new bar and foods facility just north of the Harry J McKay stand, and the fence around the new construction probably took enough area to displace between 500 to 1000 spectators.
As such, it formed a sort of partition between the terraces and the hill area. It seemed pretty jam packed in front of the stands, the hill was full also, but most people there were sitting, with about thousand crammed in at the back. It made was a very family feel, a lot of young people about, as well as the usual customers who we've come to recognise over the years.
Port's support was mainly focused around its cheer squad, which formed a Magpie bastion right near the top, middle of the hill. There were possibly around 4 to 500 Magpie fans clustered around this beacon, and they sure made a lot of noise when Port went ahead with the first goal of the game. Elsewhere. the Port faithful numbered around 1 in 5. There was Double Blue everywhere, and no matter where I was in the ground. I could turn to the next person and swap observations about how well McAdam was playing, how well Hone has matured, how good it is to have Reilly back in the side, e.t.c. and not have a fear for a second that the person I was speaking to might be from the dark side. It was pretty much 6000 Sturt supporters, with a less than generous smattering of Port folk here and there.
As for the game. Sturt just had way too much pressure for Port. and our decision making and support was too much for them. Port got a few in the dying stages and brought the margin in after blowing out to over 40 points midway through the final quarter.
Number 43 for Port did a sensational run down the wing, using his fend and some good shepherding from team mates to set up a goal in the third, this neing the highlight for Port today for me.
McAdam, for Sturt... how much can we get out of him this year before the AFL takes him?
Great weather, great crowd, great day. good beer. Go You Blues!
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

The crowd at the Tex Walker Bay game was 9,299. That was the same day as the North vs Norwood game which drew 10,014. The Bay game was a twilight game so technically today's game was the largest crowd since the Bay game.
