Been told it is an "in house, confidential report". When they are placing so much emphasis on this report when justifying their decision on this merger, we feel it is only fair to be able to read it and see where he got the information from. One of the main reasons for the parliamentary enquiry is we will finally get to read it!
Members of WT obviously didn't meet with HER or didn't report back to the board correctly. Each club had the opportunity by SACA to provide input!
Was not involved with Board then, but if "HER" is correct, that just about sums it up!! No wonder they don't want to release the report!

Maybe the WT Board could provide the reports into the reasons behind your 2 most recent Senior coaches being dismissed or is that report in house?
Why do you want to see West Torrens kicked out of the competition The Hound? Surely we have been reasonable competition for you for the 109 years you have been competing? We also helped start the game in this State 50 years prior - 20 years before the first Ashes Test.
What has contributing to a report got to do with wanting to know the details and outcome of the report?
What has the circumstances surrounding the last two senior coaches got to do with a club getting kicked out of the competition?
Even though the last 3 years hasn't been great - we have still made 1st Grade Finals during that period - Glenelg haven't. 4 of the last 6 years we've finished above you in the Club Championship (I'd go back further, but that is all the details I could find on MyCricket).
The need to "protect their own" is strongly showing through throughout this saga. Quickly get to 12 teams, everyone shut up and we can continue to be our mediocre selves long in to the future.

Well the good news Aerie, is that we are now getting the parliamentary enquiry. People like the Hound and others, plus Adelaide and Glenelg won't get what they want and they've fallen flat on their faces. There will now be transparency. That will make life interesting Can't wait until all is released.

Given up worrying about what the Hound has to say, no doubt been on the end of a few beltings from the Eagles over the years! Only hope that can continue, fingers crossed this will all be worth it in the end. SACA be worried now the Parliamentary Enquiry got the go ahead!!
For starters, only one coach was dismissed. He was then replaced by a coach who managed to get West Torrens into A Grade Finals. This coach then stood down so that he could concentrate on other matters within the club. He attended West Torrens games every week after he stood down and has been extremely influential in helping West Torrens stay alive. He virtually lives and bleeds for the West Torrens Eagles.

Yes. Adam is an influential person and the reason why so many of the kids have gone through to senior cricket at WT. Played A grade including an A grade premiership, and a lot of B grade. Handy player as a gloveman and bat, as well as a good coach. His efforts with the U17 side over the years in the Christmas holidays, was brilliant. Success and guys making it through to senior cricket. Could not have asked much more from the guy, since he transferred from the Swampys a good number of years ago.

Not sure where you are going with all this Hound, stop clutching at straws. All clubs have stuff that is going on behind doors....Other grade clubs had a player missing a game to due a physical altercation with a team mate....other clubs have players with drug issues....others don't even go back to the club for presos on a Saturday night. No one or no club is perfect. Clubs are a reflection of the general population.
Also, anyone know if Darryl Hogan is still at Prospect D grade....Massive influence on the younger Prospect kids coming through and always played the game the right way.
Must say that all this merger talk that has been going on for the last few seasons creates a very negative environment around grade cricket. Can only imagine what it's like for those clubs affected directly. What if 10 is the ultimate target number of clubs? There but for the grace of god etc...
Real shadow over the competition. Clubs looking over their shoulder, turning on each other, poaching players from clubs in turmoil.
Hate every part of it. Would love to see some new people on the board with a different approach to making grade cricket stronger.

So well said Tony, this is so very true.
Other Clubs have started increasing the pressure on players at WT and Port over the last week about playing for them next year, and the longer this drags on the harder it is getting to keep our players. So far ALL players have made a pact to stick together and see this thru, but I know this will get tougher the longer it goes on!

Couldnt agree more.
Good people who give up their time to volunteer because they see value in what a cricket club does for their community and appreciate what cricket has done for their own personal development and are wanting to give back are wondering if it is even worthwhile.
Unless SACA are willing to fork out hundreds of thousands of dollars more to run the clubs professionally, they need to nurture the clubs that give kids an opportunity, not try and destroy them.

My understanding is that 10 is the ultimate target.

What do you base that on?
I've got mail that the next step is a relocation of an existing club to a fast growing area. Not going to be cheap as the area currently does not have the facilities to cater for Premier Grade club.

You'd know more than me then, it was just what I was told a couple of years ago, I didn't think much of it at the time but that was prior to all of the current merger talks.
Isn't Mt Barker the fastest growing area in South Australia? Would certainly ease the squeeze with Sturt-Adelaide-Glenelg all crammed in next to each other.
If a club moved to Mt Barker it would make sense for all the country areas that enter Adelaide via the South Eastern Freeway to be zoned there as well.

While we are designing the whole grade cricket structure, and relocating clubs.. lets abolish community cricket comps as well and go with district zones - like primary schools lol.. all clubs in that district zone play each other
