Did ATCA provide training for how to use a manual scorebook in the past?
So why would you expect them to provide training for using electronic scoring?

Clubs needed to teach their players how to score in the past, and they still need to in the present.

As for travel:
Goodwood, 3.4kms south of king william square
Gepps Cross (who seem to get the AGM every year), 8.6kms north of king william square.

Seems on average, the northern clubs are being favoured. ;)

For what it's worth, I'd actually support more online meetings, and think announcements and 'briefings' from the association could be done via that podcast they run. That way all clubs can watch it at their own pace, at a time that suits. Equally, it's not just the delegate that gets the message then, any player at a club can listen to the same message directly if they wanted (we all know some delegates don't pass on the information accurately, or sometimes at all).
With that said, i believe ATCA have been reluctant to go to this model, as there are a number of clubs who simply won't pay attention. They'll log in and ignore the discussion. By at least forcing them to send 1 person, to sit in the room, there is a chance they'll absorb some of what is being said.

No idea if they did or didn't, well before my time. Happy to agree to disagree here regarding scoring. Let clubs manage their own administration and stop forcing them to do things because it might make paid administrators lives a bit easier. Let clubs have some control and go on their merry way doing whatever method they like. As long as we meet the deadline of inputting scores into PlayHQ, what exactly is the problem? Fair enough making it mandatory for the flagship divisions, but for LO6 I fail to see the benefit. Looking forward to when they make livestreaming mandatory for all grades. Again, I reiterate that we will be encouraging live scoring because we do prefer this method, it just doesn't sit well with me that non-essential administration practices are forced upon clubs.

Regarding meetings, nobody is getting favoured if we (volunteers) are forced to meet at 6pm on a weeknight juggling all of life's commitments to sit through a meeting which could easily be delivered online. I've even volunteered to administer the livestreaming on ATCA's behalf so clubs are given an option to attend in whatever method is most convenient. Half the people that attend the delegates meetings barely interact or look interested, probably because they are the only one from their club that could attend at that time and were sent to avoid a fine. At the end of the day If they want the right people in attendance, they should make it more accessible for them to attend. At least if they do an online meeting they can record it and distribute it so clubs can then share with the rest of their committee. But hey, let's make sure clubs are adopting the modern practices but not look at how ATCA can be more efficient.

It seems to A1 division continues to get stronger from the outset. Any other recruits getting around, also appears ATCA have introduced the ability to slash players in the A grade divisions.

Another change I would like to see is instead of having A1, A2 & A3 then B1 etc. Just have Div 1, Div 2 etc. Having B Grade teams in A3 looks a bit silly.

I believe the fixture is ready, the problem is a number of club's haven't activated their season within playhq so ATCA can't upload it until those clubs do that.

I think I heard 55 of 67 clubs had done it, with 12 yet to do so.

I know of a club last season that only opened up registrations on the tuesday before round 1. Thursday night training was everyone on their phones registering so they could play saturday! haha

At least you're not Reynella or Goodwood, both have been sent out there too. Much easier drive for you boys.
