Some kids can get turned by 'the thrill of the chase.' Having someone pump up their tyres, wax lyrical about how good they are, promises of playing in whatever grade. Good for the ego. Perhaps not great for them as a cricketer or as a person though.
Agreed, it is amazing what winter promises are made and the young fellas these day are in such a rush to be promoted. Dominating at school level is different to playing against men

I heard that TTG were close but that he'd decided to stay at the Jets. This was ages ago though.
Yes he was definitely close to joining the Gullies and had decided to stay due to his family being a big part of NDCC. This was all before he had left for the UK Summer.
Heard from the AGM that his Dad, Pat had resigned/told to resign from the Chairman position. Whether this has changed Mark's mind I'm unsure however possibly it has.

The transition of Northerns from a premier club to a community club is well under way. So rather than develop talent they will bring in community cricketers probably 23 - 28 in age who are C/B graders who have probably not made the grade previously for whatever reason. I hope for Notherns sake this does not backfire and they lose some of their talented youngsters.

I wouldnt think to many blokes in A2 / A3 would make (should play) B grade premier. Maybe 1 each side
There's not too much in A1,2 or 3 that would cut it at grade level. A lot of the lads playing those grades now are blokes that couldn't make it at grade level in the first place.

Grade cricket isn't what it was 10-15yrs ago though.
Blokes in A1-3 would prob piss in a top 22 spot these days.
**** me I'd take 20 poles without trying

Agree Zartan it's not what it once was but I reckon you are drawing a hell of a long bow if you think players in A2 and 3 could make it at grade level. Some of those blokes facing a Winter, Benton or Neate wouldn't make for good watching. Out of interest who would be the better players in A1? Hanson, Bailey and Dent?
This would appear to be correct. Sources down South saying it's a because of a number of reasons.
Difficulty getting to training because of work. In a relationship with a girl who's only in Adelaide on weekends. Had a shoulder injury for 2 seasons and just generally unable to give a 100% commitment to the game.
