Q's Colognes

Post by Q. »

The basic point of this thread is to offer decants (10-30ml) from any full bottles of cologne I have currently or acquire in the future.

The decants will be put in 10ml or 30ml glass atomisers and posted out to you. You pay per ml + cost of atomiser + cost of shipping.

I'm not likely to offer up anything you can go and try yourself at stores in Adelaide and instead offer decants from niche cologne houses whose products aren't sold here. Generally, I aim to not pay full retail price on bottles and instead keep any eye out for good deals from trusted websites. Everything is sold at cost price - this is a hobby not a money making scheme.

Here's an example of what the decants look like. These are just a couple of about two dozen decants I've bought from other people splitting their full bottles:

If you see something you like, feel free to PM me regarding payment and shipping. Don't hesitate to post questions in the thread :)

All colognes, after shaves, and scents, imply that using them will help you attract the opposite sex.

However, have you ever smelled the natural attractants used by animal species - goats for example?
Basically female goats signal receptiveness by wagging their tails.
Male goats respond to the first sign of this activity by starting to drink their own urine and reabsorbing their excreted Testosterone.
The reek of Testosterone stimulates the herd females' hormone production to bring the whole herd into season more quickly and gets the tails wagging.

OK, goats are less subtle than some other animal species, but basically that is how it works for all.

Humans are sold perfumes often based on using animal attractants like musk, but disguised with floral, or citrus, or other overtones.
This probably reduces their effectiveness at attracting mates, but enables us to pretend we are trying to smell "nice" rather than raunchy.

More modern ones may use synthetic versions of the attractants derived (probably) from petro-chemical sources.

The goat technique is probably more effective...

Spot on, Q.
As I've said (admitted?) elsewhere I use Eau Sauvage - Apres Rasage by Dior.
It is a nice light citrus smell that won't drive anyone away.

SPLIT CLOSED

Picked 50ml of this one up for the colder months and would be happy to split off 10 or 20mls for anyone [10ml - $30 (inc postage)]. You can actually sample this one at Mecca in the city or Burnside Village.

Chergui by Serge Lutens - the fragrance features tobacco leaf, honey, iris, sandalwood, amber, musk, incense, rose and hay.

I do play Devil's advocate and upset a few people, and of course I explain what I mean more after earlier complaints that I was being obscure.
C'est la vie. You can't please them all.

Actually it attracts positive comment from the more sophisticated woman.
I'm not trying to attract a bit of rough - or guys...
