I guess everyone is assuming Isobel Redmond will retain the seat, just as no one expects Mt Antionadis to win up north.
I've seen and spoken to Isobel around the locality, and so she is still showing the flag, and not making that assumption.
I have had an email from Mark Parnell asking for my vote in the upper house - I'm on his list after emailing him about a couple of issues last year.
That's the only thing I don't like about living in the hills. Its such a safe Liberal seat for both State & Federal politics that my vote wont make a difference. Luckily there is always Xenophon or people he has endorsed in the senate to vote for.
I tend to give Nick the lead vote in the upper house too, even though I'm an LNP member.
I may support Mark Parnell in the upper house here as I believe in the importance of checks and balances in the upper houses.

I have voted for mr x in the upper house too, even though a lot of his anti "other gambling except pokies" stuff I don't agree with

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape
Sounds like the Premier won the Sky News/Advertiser people's forum tonight:
PREMIER Jay Weatherill was declared the people’s winner in tonight’s fiery Advertiser People’s Forum, which centred on the economy, jobs and cost of living.
The debate, at the West Adelaide Football Club, played out in front of 100 undecided voters selected by Galaxy Research.
Thirty-eight per cent named Mr Weatherill as the winner, while 28 per cent backed Mr Marshall and 34 per cent remained unswayed.

I saw it and have decided to vote Liberal this election because its not about a Leader, its about the economic incompetence.

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape
Well, that was easy. Any wonder those Russian mail order brides can rip so much money out of some Australians.
Therefore, no surprising you've fallen for the Labor line of: Who is Stephen Marshall?
So, tell me "Who is Jay Weatherill?"
Most people had no idea before he unsuccessfully challenged Foley for the deputy leadership after the last election and got a bloody nose
Then, he participated in the knifing of Mike Rann "in the interests of the Labor Party in SA" - not the people of SA, because they are always secondary to the people of SA.
Then, we found out what had happened under his watch as Minister for Education 25 Mar '10 - 21 Oct '11 - incompetence and cover ups everywhere
But, then again, he didn't think it was important to be told. And then was angry because he didn't think it was important enough to be told
He appointed himself Treasurer 12 months ago. Has he hit a target yet? He has made, and broken, more promises than Olga the bride (previously mentioned).
He's given us a deficit blowout of $376m with the deficit to rise to $1.1b.
A Treasury document says there will be a $212m increase to net debt in 2017-18 since last year's mid-year budget review: Not true says Weatherill
No other bid for the Gillman site says Weatherill and his pet dog Kouta
Jay blames the Liberals for Qantas problems. Good one Jay. What about their $245m loss in 2012 when your mob were in power?
Budget includes Public Service numbers to drop
Blame the Federal Govt for all our economic woes and then demand $$$$ from them to pay for your promises
Gee that's going to work
I think we know who Jay is, and he's certainly not an economist
If you want to make this election about who the leader is, then maybe we just get Paul Hogan as SA Premier. Nothing else seems to matter does it?
Then again, we did that last election and got Mike Rann

"If everything that's advised to my office that's going according to what you would imagine is proper policy had to be double-checked and triple checked it would be impossible," he said.
"It is a large enough task to deal with those things ... which we can see are not going to plan."
Mr Weatherill apologised to parents and said they were "entitled to be angry" that they were not formally notified of the rape of a student until last Friday.
"I share that anger," he said.

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape
You sound a bit worried Jimmy, has Bernardi passed on some dire internal polling?
Your leaders name is Steven Marshall btw
Pollbludger's William Bowe with some of the recent happenings in a few seats:

Not worried at all: I just laugh at Labor trying to make this a beauty contest and hiding the truth

Very hard to hide the lies now

I think you're somewhat mistaken. Not as many people actually think about their vote as you think do.
For some, many perhaps, reading a headline "Weatherill wins debate" might be enough to sway them.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.
If you want to go far, go together.

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape
to me, this election lead up feels somewhat like the last two, libs havent really done much, labor have a history of errors/incompetence/scandals (the chantelois saga, turbo tom and his speeding fines etc, this time around the schools disgrace, budgets etc) and the "polls" expect the libs to gain power. however come election day the labs retain power anyway. not saying im predicting that outcome, but i wouldnt be surprised if it happens.
im still undecided which major party i feel is least worst for our state, which is sad when it boils down to the lesser of two evils

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape
Marshall seems to be the preferred Premier, but it's all to do with seats and the polls seem to show Labor is holding on grimly to a couple that the Libs were hoping to pick up.
It's going to be a close-run thing.

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape
lib's performance federally would have knocked a few undecided to the left too i would have thought. if the election was 3 months ago libs would have steamrolled it but i think it will be close, like the last few.

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape
Even Jay's own party doesn't want him to get up, disunity is death, plus the Libs have somehow managed to not self-implode this time.
But watch them disintegrate with the spoils of victory.
