Re: GONG or Wronggggggg
That great cricketing predictor WHUFC , has been spruiking another
Ryan Carters as the next opener for Australia
Will Chris Rogers or Shane Watson be able to keep Ryan Carters out of the team for much longer ?
Rogers is a fighter, but he is closer to 40 than 21 in age
Watson, with the emerging Marsh as an allrounder , is now under pressure to make runs
From what Ive seen he is rather unspectacular
Just the sort of player needed in the current team to compliment the dashers in the line up
Will he play Test cricket ?
My answer, YES

Re: GONG or Wronggggggg
Yep been on Carters for a couple of years now, should be the next Aussie opener, has a great temperament and a real solid technique with a good base of attacking and defensive strokes, very balanced cricketer, is also apparently highly respected by a lot of opposition players
90% of balls he hits are out the middle of the bat, has 'that crack sound' to it.
As Mal says his the kind of bloke who will bat with Warner and no try and compete with Warner

Re: GONG or Wronggggggg
Can Marsh stay in the team as a batsman alone? His bowling has been poor
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

I think he has to be picked as a batsman. And from where have seen he is more than capable. Made some really handy scores.
His bowling is handy but not amazing.

I had heard of him but hadn't really had a look at his numbers.
In his first 11 matches he only scored 360 runs, with 2 fifties.
In 13/14 carters scored the most first class runs in Australia, with 995 runs at 55.27 with 3 tons and 5 halves.
In 14/15 he has played 4 matches with 336 runs @ 48 with 1 ton and 1 fifty.
Excellent stats, and at 24 might soon earn that crack.

For some reason he reminds me alot of Greg Blewett, just seems to hit the ball real sweet every time.
Wouldnt be suprised if Carters is a decent golfer.

Peter Siddle
Has he played his last test match ?
Does he need to change his diet ?
Or is he better suited at number 4 in this line up

Re: GONG or Wronggggggg
PETER NEVILL
Time to give Jim05 the accolades he deserves
For sometime now he has told us that Peter Nevill must be the Australian wicket keeper , in front of Brad Haddin and Matthew Wade
I must admit when he was spruiking about Nevill, I had thought Peter who ?
How could J05 pluck Peter out?
After all he could not get a regular gig for Victoria or New South Wales at times , when Haddin and Wade were available
And with so many other keepers seemingly in front of him on form or recognition, I had thought a while ago that Peter Nevill had no hope of playing for Australia
But he will debut against England
The JIM05 predicted rise of Peter Nevill , is perhaps one of the very best long range predictions ever made on this site
PETER NEVILL FIRST CLASS BATTING
55 matches
87 innings
3012 runs
235* highest
44.29 average
6 tons
That 44.29 is a very very impressive average for a keeper
If I had to pick a keeper apart from Haddin and Wade I would have gone for Chris Hartley
Will Hartley play Test cricket ?
Will Wade ever get picked again ?
