Eh? Reading the court-related stories suggests he lied pretty heavily and hitting a woman is pretty vile. You're not defending him are you?

There is a lot of conflicting evidence. Not defending hitting a woman. That's not on. I am certain that the media have done there best to sensationalise the entire process and sell papers. Lets wait to see if he even goes to jail yet. He has maintained the whole time that events have been fabricated. This case is not black and white.

From what has been reported I am not surprised by some of the reactions. Without opening a whole can of worms he hasn't been sentenced yet.

Think the verdict means more than the sentence. Personally I'd prefer to wait for his inevitable appeal in case the judge has made a mistake, but if he hasn't, Stevens has no defence for every slamming that comes his way.

GLENELG FOOTBALL CLUB


In the wake of today’s court decision in Victoria, the Glenelg Football Club advises that it has terminated the contract of senior coach Nick Stevens.

As a proud family based community club we wish to make it very clear that we do not condone or tolerate domestic violence in any form.

The Board has appointed Matthew Lokan as its senior coach for the 2015 season effective immediately.

If any good can come out of this, then it highlights the massive issue of violence against women in our communities, one that I feel is very understated in the media considering the shocking statistics.

Agreed, I know two blokes accused who would never touch a woman but I also know of two lovely ladies who have been on the end if it, any sort of abuse against women is not on and I hope all men that feel the need to do it die painful deaths. Cowardly act.
