unfortunately none. i think you will find that council vehicles are exempt from parking restrictions while undertaking their duties.... doesnt mean they are in the right though

Even if the council vehicle was breaking the rules, it's irrelevant to whether you've broken them, so I don't think you could make that excuse.

The half hour is ridiculous, most zones are in 1 hour increments. Id be happy to go forward and line up with the East

Central standard time in winter is approximately on the Warrnambool meridian, not any meridian in SA.
In summer we run on mid-Tasman time.

It would make more sense for SA as a whole and certainly anyone living west of Adelaide if we used geographical zone time and moved 1/2 hour back towards WA. Then if the early morning people want to have Summer time, the rest of the state west of the eastern edge where Adelaide is wouldn't suffer from having to get up before dawn.

If we went forward 1/2 hour, during summer we would two hours off our time zone. This would mean that school kids in Adelaide would effectively be going home at 1.30, and (as a generalization) people would be going home from work at 3-3.30. Many people (again as a generalization) whinge about their power bills, but during summer going home earlier will be running their airconditioners longer and it will be half-hour later, as per the clock, before evenings cool down.
During March and mid-winter the mornings will be even darker. During the middle of March this year, sunrise is 7.15, which would become 7.45. Perhaps the one advantage would be there would extra daylight during winter evenings

My body resists waking up before there has been light coming through the window for a while.
I usually sleep with the blinds open to get the earliest light possible and minimise the effort required to get myself moving.

I have on occasion managed to get up and out of the house before it is light, when highly motivated, but the cost of making the effort builds up on me over time. I'd find life easier if we used true zone time - one hour behind the eastern states - and sunrise was nearer 6.45 in the winter.

It must be Hell for non-morning people like me who live in the west of SA, but perhaps they've all moved to Qld alrerady.
(I found I got up much more easily while at Noosa and in Brisbane in January.)

If we used our proper time zone without DST like Qld does, then it would be getting light here at 4.30 in the morning too at that time of year.

Ideally, I too would like to see us use our true time zone, and with DST from early Nov to end Feb.
