Re: SA v WA @ Gliderol Stadium
SA 469
WA 2/103
Watched a bit of the game today
Pitch appears batter friendly
Game looks to be at the mercy of the WA skipper from here on
Im tipping the WA game plan to be
Bat for 100 overs, gain bonus points and declare 100-150 behind
If they dont do that, this game will fizzle
Be interesting to see if the pitch takes spin on day 4
Adam Zampa might have to be the trump for SA
Im tipping he will take more wickets than any other SA bowler for the remaining games

Re: SA v WA @ Gliderol Stadium
Botha not selected this match = will never be picked to play Sheffield Shield Cricket again for SA ?
I wonder if any other states are considering recruiting Botha for next season ?

Didn't play for Glenelg on the weekend so I'd say he is done with SA cricket.

klinger errrrday
The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

I'm not sure a win inside two days necessarily makes for much better cricket (PS watch WA win this outright)

Its not about better cricket its about getting into and winning finals. A couple of other states have no hesitation doctoring pitches to get results

Re: SA v WA @ Gliderol Stadium
Pitches shouldn't habitually need declarations to bring about results. Often the games people point to after someone wins in Adelaide needed at least 2 declarations to get there. We're hurting ourselves by making batting too easy, especially early. Don't teach our batsmen to work for runs and don't teach the bowlers how to build pressure.
WA should bat until around 10 overs before stumps here, get a healthy lead and then just try to knock us over. Reckon they'd be pretty happy with anything more than a 100 run lead by then.

Going on our history they would be thinking about getting a lead of 200-250 tomorrow and knocking us over in two sessions.
Hopefully we can bat the day out and earn a draw
