Doesn't the matching of any offer have to be for the same total dollars over the same period so the Crows may be able to match it even if Geelong made it a front end heavy offer.

Correct, Geelong would say go very hard to a 2 year contract. Which would like 1mil each year. Then at the same time have a 2nd contact for years 3 - 5 at another rate. Over 5 years he would say average 800k or whatever but the crows need to match the first big one.
