Or they could just front load their contract so crows cant match offer.

Then they would get him for nothing.

Doesn't the matching of any offer have to be for the same total dollars over the same period so the Crows may be able to match it even if Geelong made it a front end heavy offer.

If it's not the same, then surely it isn't matching it

Correct, Geelong would say go very hard to a 2 year contract. Which would like 1mil each year. Then at the same time have a 2nd contact for years 3 - 5 at another rate. Over 5 years he would say average 800k or whatever but the crows need to match the first big one.

Why would they need 2 contracts? Why not just write it all in one?

The second us after the fact for an additional 3 years. Im just saying its possible to make it hard for the crows to match the offer.

There is a minimum contract length and must match the total over the period. Front loading means nothing in this circumstance.

Dangerfield and myself had the same problem in our football careers
We both burnt the ball by foot a few times in enough games
No surprise though , both of us often got 20 + kicks a match

True. Although most of your kicks were from your opponent sinking his boot into your arse.
