Sounds like the justification for him is that they need an enforcer to replace Starc and he must be the next quickest?
That seems to be the justification in picking Coulter-Nile, that he bowls at 140 km/h or higher. Lehmann was critical of Siddle last year as his pace dropped to between 130 and 135.
Would be a major reason they won't pick Sayers, as he bowls at similar pace to Siddle. Lehmann was quoted as saying you need to be bowling over 140 to play for Australia. Probably why Cummins and Pattinson were pushed up when they were not ready and their bodies could not handle it, just because they bowl fast.
Don't agree with the logic, good batters can handle the pace, it is the bowler who swings the ball both ways that trouble the batters, exactly why Sayers gets so many wickets. Sayers or Bird had to be rewarded for their Shield performances ahead of NCN, that is pretty obvious you would have thought!
Hasn't played a shield game this season through injury, I guess carrying a slight injury is reason enough to bring him in, that way he can totally **** it & miss the ODI's & T20's where he's better suited.
Would love to see the Chadd play but probably needs another one or two strong performances in a row, Bird or the dude with the sort of swear name would be the obvious choices IMO.
Fekete got dropped a couple of shield games ago from Tasmania. Long way off now

OK, forgive my stupidity then, I remember him taking a few last season and thought he could become the next Richard Stobo.

A first class batting average of 17 is hardly an average to inspire confidence. These days that is more the average of a number 10.
I agree. Just trying to find justification somewhere.
He's a pretty good fielder.

Andrew Fekete was named in the Test squad for the Bangladesh tour so he must've fallen away pretty quickly.

Re: Australia v Windies - Test series
While I don't think a NCN is the right person the more I think about it the theory is right
Would u really want an attack with say Hazelwood, Siddle and Sayers. That is 3 bowlers almost identical and in the case of Siddle and Sayers they try and do the exact same think at high 120's early 130's
The attack definately did need some variation but NCN without playibg shield says some horrible messages

exactly the same pace except one is a more traditional round arm swing bowler and one is a high arm seam bowler. pretty different bowlers IMO

Australian Crocket Team
1 Watson
2 S Marsh
3 Khawaja
4 Henriques
5 M Marsh
6 Paine
7
8 STARc
9 Pattinson
10 Coulter-Nile
11 Cummins
I have brought in Shane Watson out of retirement to captain this team
There is still one more spot left in the team
Looking for a spin bowling crocketer ideally , otherwise another specialist batsman perhaps
4 of those crocketers are in the first test squad to play the West Indies

Almost got the CA selector way of thinking right.. just need to find a specialist batsman whose unable to score consistent 100's, and likes to bowl a few tweakers in the nets.

Surely the "big Duke" makes this side, he could open the bowling, bat 7 and bowl a few offies later on

Weather and Conditions are cop outs. Phantom is 100% correct. It will be a shit series. Australia will not need to bat twice in any test.
In at least one test an Australia batsmen will out score the entire West Indies side.
