Freo just want to win much more than Adelaide, pure and simple, make all the excuses and reasons you like but Freo had much less talent on the ground but got the win.

Re: Adelaide Crows 2018
Injuries aside there's a few Adelaide players who haven't been able to keep standing up week in week out.
Ellis-Yoleman has been ordinary in the 3 straight losses, he had 2 quarters on the weekend where he didn't touch it, Greenwood hasn't been anywhere near as effective as he was at times last year and it all stems, I think, from Jacobs' form.
All of Jacobs' workload over the last 4-5 years looks like it's coming back to bite.
Does that conversation have to be had, Crowfolk, Jacobs out, O'Brien in?

If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.

Yep..
Jacobs is cooked. Can't get across the ground. I don't know if he is completely done but he needs a spell badly and i'd do it for the next match.
Other Adel players are finding it tougher without the quality around them as support.

Re: Adelaide Crows 2018
Rumor has it Smith may play SANFL soon after the AFL bye ( which is 10 days away for Adelaide ) which could be crucial for Adelaide in the last month or so.
Tough road ahead right now - Hawthorn (A), BYE, West Coast (H), Richmond (A), Geelong (H), Brisbane (A), Port, GWS (A), North (H), Carlton (A) to end the year.
6-6 now, I can only pencil in Brisbane and Carlton as wins right now.

Smith back in would make a difference.
The crows are missing genuine X Factor.
Smith provides that from the back with his ability to run.
McGovern provides that in the air mainly up forward but around the ground.
and Sloane provides that in the form of an inspirational effort when its needed.
Not too many out there at the moment with the capacity to change the momentum and direction of the game such as a 10 minute burst from a Robbie Gray.

I was at the game Sunday and was watching Big Sauce closely. He was always 4-5 meters off Cox around the ground and just looked way slower than usual. He’s either injured or we’re starting to see the beginning of the end. We’re now in an position of unknown because we have no idea about how our other ruckman can perform at AFL level.

Re: Adelaide Crows 2018
Any team with any game plan is very likely to struggle for peak form if they have 3 to 5 regular players consistently unavailable
The way Ive seen things :
Crows been a brilliant team in 2016 + 2017 when most players have been available
Crows have performed below par with too many injuries in 2018

Re: Adelaide Crows 2018
Unfortunately many of the players checked out during the Melbourne loss. I think there is a lot more going on behind closed doors than is known for a side to just give up like they have over the last three games.
Maybe everything has caught up with them...No leaders, many Injuries, expectations, being 'up' for so long, the disappointment of last years GF, many players undecided (or maybe decided...) on their future...

If the crows sason is nearly over why would you risk playing Smith just for the sake of it.Better off getting him right for next season. Look at NicNat had a full year off and has come back like a beast

Re: Adelaide Crows 2018
I agree. I cannot see Smith playing AFL this year. If they want to give him a run in the magoos then fine. There is nothing to gain from it in 2018 unless we string a few wins together and sneak into the eight.

Re: Adelaide Crows 2018
Crows are only a game + % outside the 8 - why wouldn't you look to play your best players if available? Smith could be the difference between playing finals or not.

Re: Adelaide Crows 2018
Interesting that Adelaide have used the equal second least amount of players so far this season (30). North Melbourne have used the least (29) and Essendon, Geelong, St Kilda the most (36).

The AFL should let this mob play with 36 on the field.
