Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 1 - 2019
I think TTG are just messing with everyone atm. I don’t believe they have put their best team on the park. I’m sure with all the connections the club has they would have a few good players they could attract........... couldn’t they?

They are not messing with anyone. After winning the flag last year they have lost some significant talent and the plan is to mainly replace that talent from within. The reality is that they won't be as strong as last year, but time will tell where they are at. They have lost their two trials to Norwood reserves and Port Districts, but I understand they were more than competitive in both.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 1 - 2019
trials are just that and you cant read anything into it
Some do the old primary school trick of swapping the forwards and backs at half time
Everyone thought TTG were doomed last year when they lost a lot of quality. That ended well................

Well he's 202cm, so, he's definitely big. He's a cricketer that Essendon signed him as a Category B rookie. Will be interesting to see how he goes.

Just hearing The sharks will be adding 2 new players to their list. I don’t have any idea on who but a bloke at work who is involved there says it will get people talking. Also that one of the Williams brothers is headed back to tea tree gully after a few years on the sidelines. That should make the a little stronger if he can get fit.

He was just ok at VFL level but retired due to persistent injuries and couldn’t get his body right.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 1 - 2019
Big rumour out of Harpers Field this afternoon.......Golden Grove storming at Brighton in the third quarter and the Brighton ‘tapouts’ (as they shall be known) decided to quit the trial game at 3 quarter time. Never heard of any team doing that before.....there was some talk about a few of the tapouts going to see the Crows LOSE to the mighty Hawks BUT really.....if you commit to a trial don’t you play it out?

Goodwood defeated Flagstaff comfortably in all 3 trials today. Wouldn’t go too much on the A Grade trial as both sides were missing players. Goodwood won A Grade trial by about 8 goals

I’ve seen teams call it quits on numerous occasions before the agreed.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

Sorry but I think that’s just poor. Clubs play trials with times agreed on quarter length and number of quarters....this would be part of the coaches plans towards conditioning, game plans and having a look at fringe/new players....to cut it short is just plain selfish. You say you have seen it on numerous occasions....I would say that those clubs may or rather should.... find it difficult to lock down trials in future. I know I wouldn’t agree to a trial again if a club did that to me......fool me once! I thought it was extremely unusual but given your reply maybe it’s not...anyway, play on and good luck for the year Laughing Kookaburra
