Has anyone here ever had to complete a form to oppose a development in their area?

We've just received a letter from PAE to advise that the owners of the little set of shops across the road have bought the residential house next door and are planning on knocking the house down to extend the shops and build a gym.

Over my dead body.

What's your main objection to it?

heavily increased traffic in a small side street, and the noise, especially if it ends up being a 24 hour gym

Any neighbours share the same sentiment? Might be worth collectively engaging a planning expert to help you.

Nah, the owner of the shop "complex" (there's a coffee shop, hairdresser, chemist, dentist, chiro and the doctor surgery) bought the house behind the shops quite some time ago.

Now I haven't sussed out too much yet but i reckon he's sold the whole lot off because he's building a whole new surgery down the road (across from Paradise Int) and the new owner has plans for consultancy rooms and a new gym on the what is now a residential property

FYI, there's already a gym at the end of the street, which has been there for over 30 years and has outlived a fitness first and other major players.
