Re: 2021 Adel Footy League - Division 7
I saw OSB/Lonsdale had a trial game on Saturday at home- who did they play and how did they go?

May have missed it earlier, but the fixture has Houghton playing at Greenwith Oval rather than at home. What has happened to the Houghton Oval?

Finally someone used "term" instead of "quarter" when there was 6 of them.

Re: 2021 Adel Footy League - Division 7
I reckon this Div is going to be very exciting and interesting to see how ends up. 4 clubs picking up good numbers with quality players too. So it's going to be hard to pick the 2 teams who will play off in a GF.
My prediction for the ladder after the GF is:
1. HOUGHTON
2. GREENACRES
3. CENTRAL UNITED
4. BRAHMA LODGE
5. FLINDERS UNI
6. ADELAIDE LUTHERAN
7. HACKHAM
8. LONSDALE O/B
9. MITCHELL PARK

Pete Smith is a very handy inclusion for Houghton. You would expect him to carve up div 7 even as a veteran!

Re: 2021 Adel Footy League - Division 7
Tell ya what, you can pretty much set your watch every year for this forum to have peanuts not understand lower division football to claim some random dude that's played a higher level who
"Would be too good for D7"
"Will tear it apart at this level"
"Surely the best ruck/forward/defender in the comp"
"Shoe in for the medal"
Or whatever. How often does it come to fruition? Almost never.
D6/7 has always had high calibre players. It's not the top end of teams that causes clubs to be in lower divisions. It's the lack of depth and consistency of talent.
What the "guns" very quickly realise is that its not tennis or another individual sport. It's a team game. And you're reliant on the talent of others. In these divisions that talent isn't always there.
If you're a midfielder, maybe you won't have that elite tap ruckman putting it exactly where you want it or the defensive team mate block for you every time. If you're a forward maybe the kicks are to the left right down up and not on your nips. If you're a defender maybe you don't get that team defensive help.
Invariably those more talented players try to do too much, fail, get frustrated and then don't deliver on expectations.
