There's only so many times you can rub one out in a day.

Had to head to Moomba yesterday to complete my 4WD training refresher - 3rd time i've had to book this year as the other two were cancelled.

Woke up this morning with an itchy eye and sneezing - lovely hayfever.. spoke to work colleagues, suggested i go grab a hayfever tablet from the medic.

Apparently Hayfever symptoms same as COVID so forced to have a test, and need to isolate in my room until the results come back - cant leave at all.. 4WD training cancelled, cant do it tomorrow, have to re-book for a 4th time, have to have meals delivered to my room and i cant travel home until i get a negative result.

I am absolutely ropeable.

How were you forced to have a test? Did they hold you down?

Mate I’m in the middle of no where for work, when work says it’s got to happen - what choice do I have?

Cant turn around and head home
Cant ignore and just go off to work

No didn’t hold me down, but left me with no choice.. I value you job and income.

Did a doctor decide you had symptoms of covid or is somebody at work now a doctor?

I dont know the answer to the predicament you found yourself in, sounds like you were coerced into having a test by your employer

How do you get a COVID test in Moomba and other remote towns? Do GP's / Doctors have kits etc now?

Not that Clare is remote but up here one of the gp’s has set up a section of their practise as Covid respitarory clinic for testing.

Interesting, do they have to send off the test for results or can they do that locally?

Believe they have to send off.

My partner got results back within 36 hours.

Ps. They get collected twice a day according to my partner who works at the medical centre

I've had a lot of turnover in my team over the last 18 months...some forced redundancies, some retirements, some resignations.
I was bored during a meeting yesterday and worked out how many years of experiences I've lost over the last 18 months...I've gone from 143 years to 35! And 18 of those are me, and 10 are another guy, with two open positions available. It's no wonder we are drowning in workload...

A little less time on here might ease the workload.
