I also honestly think if the election wasn't so close the borders would be shut and we'd be in lockdown right now. The looming election is just forcing the government to look to move forward with this.

I understand why they're sending people into isolation, I don't agree with it, I reckon a negative after 3 days and off you go, but that's a hell of a lot different to locking the state down, that won't happen again.

Now they are pushing the SCARIANT out of Sth Africa from what i have read there have been thousands of cases over the last 4 weeks symptoms are headache sore throat runny nose for 3 to 5 days a mild FLU.

One death so far in Sth Africa but the person also had aids this all from the medical experts mouth.

Because if you have come from NSW, VIC or the ACT where cases are high you would have needed to have had a negative test result no more than 72hrs before entering the state. This bloke has tested negative on that test and then positive on the arrivals test which means that there is only a 3 day window tops where you are infectious

I believe that the requirement to isolate until the arrival test proved negative changed over the weekend because the government were told all these punters were going to turn up this morning and miss the first day of the cricket because they had to isolate

So now, you arrive, have a test, and go have a fat time infecting everyone if you have it. Oh hang on, they're not allowed into a high risk area nor dance or drink standing up (thank %^$# for that)

Seriously; why should we take anything seriously if these effwits keep letting us down with stupid effing rules.

It doesnt have to be as accurate, i believe its more likely to find you positive so whats wrong with that? If the antigen test finds you positive then its isolate until you have a PCR test and negative result is given. That would be too much common sense though.
No need for a PCR if youre negative. Would save the State a fortune, $200 vs $30 is roughly what im led to believe it costs.

Rapid antigen test are designed to test if your body is reacting to a virus. So it only test if your body is responding. It is far less sensitive that a PCR test and is more likely to say you are negative to COVID when in fact you have it, are a symptomatic and are infective..
