Re: 2025 Adelaide Footy League - Division 1
I don't think any Executive or Committee Member of a club is hiding behind a boardroom door at this level. These are the same people who do most of the off-field grunt work every Saturday plus a hell of alot during the week that allows the coaches and players to concentrate on their role. They see first-hand the dynamic between players and coaches, are not invisible to players and supporters, and are hardly making decisions of this nature without a pretty good understanding of the situation.
I personally can't see the merit in removing a coach mid-season unless there has been a significant incident worthy of immediate action but Glenunga and PNU have made their decisions and will move on. One or both of them will still be in Division 1 next season and maybe this period with an interim coach prior to appointing their next coach will turn out to be a positive.

I agree with DTH, I don't think any committee at this level is hiding behind closed doors. It's likely Glenunga and PNU realised they'd either appointed the wrong coach to begin with, or there were issues that required immediate remediation before they compounded. Tough call, it would be a lot easier to put your head in the sand and let things continue down the wrong path until season's end.
@Beefy I'm sure Glenunga would love to have Grima back, but I'm not sure that's what's going to happen. It looks like he's pulled the guernsey on a couple of times this season, though, so obviously still has a lot of affection for the players and the club.

Surely if Grima was a chance he would have been coach from the start of the season?

Reckon you can pencil in Round 17 for the last spot for relegation.
Payneham Vs PAOC at Payneham.
Cant see PAOC wiining any of their remaining matches apart from having a chance in that game.
Payneham on the other hand have Broadview the week prior and on current form you would think they would win that

Was at the SHOC PAOC game and PAOC were unlucky, probably played the better footy and are better than their ladder position indicates.
Not sure on their injury status because I don't know much about them, but McHenry didn't play, could have been the difference in the end

Melville from TTG kicked 80 goals in 2016 and that included bags of 11 & 10 both v ROC. Fair effort in those 2 games considering ROC finished 5th that year and his 11 was out of a team total of 15 and it was 10 out of 18 in the other.

Must have been some excellent manoeuvring to get that under the salary cap haha.River Murray wrote:Down the Hill wrote:Melville from TTG kicked 80 goals in 2016 and that included bags of 11 & 10 both v ROC. Not that any club would ever go over, definitely not back then.

Not involved now with recruiting for my club....but on the committee.......so not clued up who were targeting for next year
as for salary cap.....just interview them.....as not all come aboard......when they jump aboard then worry about salary cap
or don't worry about salary cap......20 ways or more to beat the system.....
