Was aimed purely to highlight what teams we looked like we would have (girls / boys / mixed) and reassure some parents.

Nek minute meltdown from U13 coach who sees this as an attempt to derail their finals campaign and opportunity to win a flag by causing distraction and unrest.

Just got off a call from my mother-in-law … as a Crows member, she had just tried to get a ticket for the match and managed to give her credit card details to a scammer.

She’s on the phone now to her bank to ‘clean up’ the mess.

The best bit is that when I ask her to reconstruct what she did, she can’t remember.

My Mum, on the other hand, has not entered the digital era and still operates on a purely cash basis as if it’s still 1955. Scammer are no match for her.

My dear MIL once gave scammers my mobile number … after telling me that scammers called her and she was on to them so didn’t fall for it, they rang me a couple of days later. When I asked her WTF, she said that the original call to her was about her mobile & internet, so she told them that I deal with all her Telstra stuff and gave them my number.

It’s a great question, and I have hinted in previous posts, not the first time she has ‘interacted’ with scammers.

I have spent countless hours over the years ‘educating’ her and providing awareness of online risks, but she for some reason still falls for stuff. The worst bit is that she gets really confused and can’t explain what she’s done, which makes it nigh impossible to help her.

She rang me after it happened, wondering if something was wrong, so she has some awareness, but it’s like Adrenalin kicks in and overrides any rational thought while it’s happening.

Will discuss with the missus on what we should do from here. My strong inclination is to suggest that we ‘ban’ her from online trading, but that’s easier said than done.
