Secret City

Inside The Freemasons

If the Blue Murder above is the Aussie show based on Roger Rogerson and Neddy Smith etc, i strogly recommend it. One of my all time fave aussie shows.

yeah i think it is, its definitely Aussie and about 20 years old

Wasnt sure where to put this as we don’t have a thread for Foxtel series, but has anyone ever watched Snowfall about the beginning of the crack cocaine era in LA around 1984? I’ve binged the F*** out of it and just can’t get enough

We watched this and it was really hard to like the protagonist because he was massively screwing his own people...

Great show though

Yeah it’s pretty sad, makes you thankful that by sheer luck or the grace of God you were born somewhere that gave you a
Chance at life, unlike so many of the ilk of those in the series.

Im not a huge fan of dubbing, but this adds a serious comedy element to this show. For added kicks chuck the subbies on and see how different they are to whats spoken/dubbed

Mate I've got the subtitles on - but am listening to the Korean. I can't stand dubbing either!

Finished watching Squid Game last night - watched the first few episodes in Korean with subtitles, then the Mrs wanted to watch so went back and watched Dubbed.. really was eating at me seeing the lips move but words not matching up - kind of got used to it.. interestingly it was pretty well word for word what the english subtitles had.

Overall i enjoyed it, and so did the Mrs surprisingly - had some shock factor, was a little strange at times but think that's what was good too. The slow parts were quite slow and at times felt it dragged on, but overall not a bad show i thought if you can handle the dubbing.

Dubbing got the better of us and if im watching tv at the end of a long day reading subtitles is the last thing I want to do.

May revisit at some point though.

I’m surprised your subbies lined up with the dubbed dialogue, even my kids were laughing saying “that’s not what he/she said at all” lol. Interestingly too our subtitles stopped working after anytime the “Front Man” spoke. Anyhoo, finished the series last night, was a bit of fun. Eldest niece wants to watch the 2nd movie in the Escape Room series, sensing a theme here ..

Strangely, I actually enjoy subtitles - feel like I get more into the show/movie and seem to follow easier? Perhaps because you concentrate bit more? I've gotten into a habit of watching English movies with the subtitles on these days too.

The misses has got me watching Good Girls with her.

Not bad at all, especially easier with Christina Hendricks as the lead.
