Yeah lets pay big bucks for another Div 6 flag. Then ask the SAAFL to crawl back down to Div 6 when they get smashed in a higher Div. Difference is, work is work and footy is a past time. Especially Div 6. If he's that good at playing footy, why not have a serious crack at playing at a higher div. Instead of chasing $$$$.

To be honest I think anything more than a few bob to potentially pay for a players fuel if they're not local to the club / beer vouchers for the bar etc at this level is insane !!!! As for $400 , geez I have mates that play league footy that don't make that after the tax man takes his cut ! All it promotes is laziness and for players not to push themselves

Agree with Browny. I use to think like you bombers4eva but the reality is clubs pay now. I only know of one club that doesn't pay in Div6 and happy to be corrected if there is more. Just the way it is.

I understand about the reality of it and I'm not going to argue on the pros and cons. Just saying that from what I have heard about this Steele bloke is obvious that he can play. And if he's been offered that much then he is probably very good. So go try playing at a higher level or in the Barossa league or in the Hills league where you can get paid the same amount and play at a higher standard. He's playing below his standard.

Wouldn't dream of paying anyone to play football.

Am comfortable with a number of people receiving gratuities to express the club's appreciation however.
