Yes this is a public forum and most posters are genuine. Let’s get off Kilburns back and let them fight their battle and stop making up crap that most people have no real proof of. I for one respect the club and hope they get through it. More importantly there is finals happenening and that should be of more excitement to talk about.
Now you can all come back at me with what you’ve got if that’s your wish but I’m thick skinned. Just had to say it because it’s easy to kick someone when they are down. Good luck Shrek you defend your club as you should.
Think most people's issue with Kilburn is that there's a perception that they are in the financial whole because of player payments (no idea if this is fact or not - Kilburn people will deny it). Also that all these loyal Kilburn people are only around when the money is around and the shambles of 2014 when no one stuck it out and allowed "their" club to cop 60-70 goal floggings every week. Won't be the last club to have money issues and the league will be worse off without a Kilburn football club in my opinion like them or not.
There are plenty of factors involved - not wholly or solely player payments.
It’s not the “Kilburn Football Club” in debt, it’s the whole Kilburn sporting club.. lack of community support, new arrivals, changing demographic, lack of support in the club, no juniors, battling cricket program - all factors.
Kilburn used to be open most nights and have plenty of regulars at the bar, Friday nights would have karaoke or a band etc and Saturday nights preso for teams - all year around.
Now soccer from the local afghan community provides most traffic - but they don’t want to spend money, they don’t support the club - they just use the oval for social games.. pay for the oval? Well stuff that they’ll just come after hours and use it.
Our cricket club is a few blocks away and I’ve had several issues in recent years of groups of guys rocking up whilst we are playing or about to play and just setting up goals and starting a game on half the oval!
To point the finger at the player payments as the sole cause is naive and stupid.

Couldn’t agree more with this.. the players that walked away the year the money dried up suddenly love the club lol
what club you involved with love a rumour? would love to know the blokes names that walked away this year because of " no payments " that is a complete and utter lie!

Used to have some strong junior sides prob 15yrs ago, they grew up and the neighbourhood demographic changed vastly - young kids no longer around the area or were replaced by new arrivals.
Tried to ressurect the juniors I reckon about 6-8 years ago off top of my head, managed to get a couple teams together and even got an U16 girls side from the local African community, unfortunately was not successful and lacked support/volunteers - those who spent endless hours getting it up burnt themselves out.
Kids in the area dont want to play Aussie Rules.

They had limited junior teams a few years ago, it would be bloody hard for them to start up as Kilburn has a lot of African families that are right into soccer. They also would have to compete with Pooraka, Gepps Cross, Broadview and Fitzroy who have all been established and well ran for a number of years, that horse has bolted.

is it written in stone that bosfc will have to move?
maybe bos get an old iggies type deal and keep an upgraded oval and then share it with kilburn instead of moving to kilburn..gets kilburn out of the barren footy area that will not change in the near future..
At least it’s nice to read comments from educated footy people, most of whom I know, have met and have respect for. Not keyboard warriors who need a boat for their fishing
