I listen on line as I have no choice. Personally, I think the lads who do the calls do an ok job. It helps if the callers actually have a knowledge of the SANFL. Both BP and PhilH generally know the players from each team, and that is always s plus point. I like John Nankeville too. The downside to streaming is that it can, and does, just drop off indiscriminately and for varying lengths of time although that could be down to my internet connection as much as anything else.
So Channel 7 are going to take another week off? The state game gets televised every year doesn't it, especially when it's against the Vics?
I'm sure if not Ch 7 maybe the ABC it was that televised it either last year or the year before that.

Can be done, like it was today at Alberton, will be just limited to a certain amount of games...
The State Game next weekend will be Video Streamed, LIVE from Adelaide Oval next Sunday...
I saw the live stream from Alberton today, again it was good to watch, why don't the SANFL promote this??? Surely its the future and part of their growth strategy??

They do promote it, via the clubs, leaving them to promote it as they see fit...
Clubs are going to advertise it late in the piece as to protect numbers through the gate...
I would suggest it is a part of their future strategy, for sure...
Lets be honest, like horse racing it is only the die-hards attending a lot of the games these days, 1300 odd at Alberton is hardly worth protecting. However by promoting the live stream you expose the competition to a whole range of people that may then chose to go to a game in the future.
At the moment we have no idea what game is going to be on live stream and what isn't until we check the live scores and there it is. It seems the SANFL wants a half baked cake and thats what it is getting.
Bit like retail stores going online, you need to change with the times to succeed. If you are not getting better you are almost certainly getting worse.

Clearly crowds aren't the be all and end all these days, but given the SANFL is so keen to talk about its online awareness and Facebook page hits, I'd think the live stream was a priority. It's a confusing tactic.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.
