Re: Qualifying Final - Norwood v Sturt @ AO (Sat T 30/8)
Quite an amazing occurrence in both Norwood's League and Seconds teams in this weekends Finals
Both games ended up with the same total goals scored by teams
NW 10-5
GL 8-16
NW 10-6
ST 8-9
The winners scored 10 goals the losers 8 goals in both matches
The losers in both games had more scoring shots
According to sources:
Norwoods League team had the unremarkable record of being the most inaccurate scoring team in the comp this season

Reckon it could be over 20,000!!!
Good weather, New Stadium, could be massive!!!!!!!
With 4:40pm on a Saturday being the shittest of football timeslots then I reckon 5-6k will show up for both games.
Your going to be way off. It will be double that at least
Double that it was.

Jtr I don't think you understood my last post. Yes it was double and yes I got that wrong. Purely is due to the new AO.
Can't help but think it will justify to those that decided to let the afl reserves in, that they made the right choice.
Last year only 5k turned up to week 1.

I don't think that even the biggest AFL-boosters would claim that the intrusion of 2 AFL reserves teams, neither of whom played on the weekend, had any impact on attendances. It's not only AO, but really the big positive story of the 2014 SANFL season has been Sturt (drowned out by all of the AFL controversy). Even though across the last 15-to-50 years South have had less success than Sturt, it's been longer since Sturt made the finals, plus they've had to endure 2 wooden spoons in the meantime. And there are simply more Sturt supporters to bring out of the woodwork.HeartBeatsTrue wrote:Jtr I don't think you understood my last post. Yes it was double and yes I got that wrong. Jeez, we've only had 3 years out of the finals, played in a GF in 2010.

Sorry meant 09, last finals was 2010.
My point is that we haven't been out of the spotlight for too long for people to have to come out of the woodwork.

Yes, the first time in ages we've had Sturt, Norwood and Port filling the top three positions was always going to boost the figures.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
