Re: Australian Domestic Season 2018-19
Often we rag on the Adel Oval pitch for not producing results, but looking over the games this round - and even the last - you'd have to think most states are preparing flat lifeless wickets to give their bats the best possible chance of impressing Aussie selectors.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2018-19
The MCG match would have been over in ten sessions if they hadn't had 99999 millimetres of rain today. A real improvement given all Shield matches plus the test last year were drawn.

TEENAGE RAMPAGE
How SWEET it was for a couple of teenagers in Sydney , yesterday, on Melbourne Cup day
Jason Sangha [117]
Jack Edwards [101]
In a rarity , 2 teenagers both made hundreds on the same day of a Sheffield Shield match
Kerry Okeefe is saying Jason Sangha is the next big thing in Australian cricket
Im going on record in posting that Jack Edwards WILL be the next big thing, and be a 5000+ rungetter at test level
I watched a few of the under 19 International matches
My impressions
Jason Sanga does everything right technically
LLoyd Pope is a gun bowler
Jack Edwards will play Test cricket, his batting style reminded me of watching a young Greg Chappell
Jack Edwards made his ton in his 3rd SS game, batting at 7

Sangha certainly looks a beauty I think, Edwards could be good - definitely hits a ball hard, i'm not sold he will be a superstar just yet though.
Their centuries have been aided by the fact they've been in the system a while, played U19 WC earlier this year, on BBL lists and played PM XI or NPS XI matches - they've had good exposure to high class bowling a fair bit over the past 18 months.

Not sold on Pope just yet. Has a very good wrong'un, but his stock delivery is quite average IMO.

Tend to agree with this comment. Even the NSW batters said facing him in 2nd innings was easy, as once you have faced him he was easy to pick. Good batsmen will be able to play him easily. His wrong in turns a mile, but cant over use it.
Typical spinner, has always cleaned up the tail or got wickets by batters trying to slog him. Still got a long way to go, but is only 18.

Sangha & Pucovski look to be genuine A grade + talents.
Not since M Clarke & P Hughes were making their way through the underage systems back in the day have two players been more talked up & rated by all.In 4-5 years you would hope they are our rock solid middle order in the test team. They certainly look like they have the goods to do so.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Agree, not long and batsmen will just play him as an office and play the leggies off the pitch as they are more like toppies than leggies

Them other 2 bums will just get given more opportunities cause they’re from NSW. On numbers alone Weatherled should be given crack before them but won’t.

Wrong.
Weatherald is his own worst enemy - too inconsistent, and not enough scores in SS. This is masked by him making scores in ODD or BBL - but fact is he would average around 25 in Shield cricket and has only got 3x Shield 100's.

Whoops, stand corrected then haha! Sorry!
My bad, when I was adding his seasons, it was 1, 776 - I entered 1, 176 when sorting his average
Well then, 34.15 isn't so bad is it haha, but still, would like to see him convert few more starts.

Should see him slot into 4 in the current test line up.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2018-19
Playing WA from Friday at Adelaide Oval.
Head back. Still no Carey or Zampa.
Sayers under a cloud? Worrall back?
Six batters or keep playing the extra bowler (Valente)?
Pope stays or go 4 quicks + Head?

I don't think we'll bowl them out twice in less than 200 overs so I'd go batter heavy and try to avoid the outright loss, how strong is their line up despite having 5 players in the T20 squad?

Think you are correct with Sayers, heard his knee is no good and won't play till after Xmas.
Is Worrall ready for a 4 day game, played in one 50 over game for Kensington?
Think they will play six batters, out of Richardson or Worrall to replace Sayers, Pope plays and Valente dropped.

According to MyCricket he's played the last 3 weekends bowling 10, 22 and 9 overs.
And it says he played Bs (and bowled
