Re: SANFL Junior codes
Anyone from Brighton able to shed light on why the U16 girls game is at 4:50pm this Sunday and not earlier?
Surely with the 15s starting at 1:10pm the girls could be played earlier?

Re: SANFL Junior codes
The above is correct Bedge. We had to shift a few games including the U15s that were originally scheduled for 3pm. The U18 prelim has slotted into the 3pm slot and the girls game is being played as originally scheduled at 4.50pm.

Ah cheers, makes sense 18’s arent juniors anymore so that’s why it doesn’t show up on the oval usage report on the SANFL Jnrs site! Explains the large gap in time.
Thanks!
Thanks!

If it wasn’t for the kids playing I wouldn’t even remember what “junior footy” was

We had an under 16.5 game at 6:30pm on a Sunday night last year. Felt for Salisbury having to travel to and from at that time

When we were a combo side with Edwardstown
CLG is in the heritage area, we have volunteers with torches standing around the ground on training nights so the players can train

Well done to the SANFL for getting in a 12 round season for the kids, been great to be involved again and we really enjoy playing against different clubs around the town.

Absolutely, a bit strange that from under 12's to under 15's don't have any semi's etc. only a GF but the 16.5's have semi's.
On the same token, at least it gives more kids more game time this season opposed to most kids only playing 9 games and some 12.
The league executive should be very happy with themselves as a whole, yeah it was a bit weird and a tad frustrating with the longer gaps between games but you'd take that, I also found the umpiring very good throughout the year (and my lad plays for a northern suburbs club).
Suggestions for the future Mr Riddle:
More of the mini's to under 10 games on Friday nights to free up the ovals for Sundays.
Less of the older age groups on Friday nights as the games go a bit long and spectators get on the piss for longer, the players tend to get more cheap shots in as the vision is poor for the umpires.

Does anyone have the medal winners for the junior grades? Have they even been done yet?

They have been sent to club presidents. Should be available on the site shortly I would imagine.

I know its not SANFLJ but in the Under 18's there was no AdFL rep at the game and the coach had to hand out medals/shield and the opposition didn't hang around.

Thought I read somewhere the league were not doing Presentations on the ground this year, and Clubs would be given the medals/shield etc to do back at their own clubs??
